Trocadero: Serial: Dwight_Yeast: I'm guessing that like the Superman and Spiderman reboots it's all about keeping the rights from reverting?

All DC film/TV properties are handled by Warner Bros. Unlike Marvel, who sold rights to different properties to different studios and then changed their minds and opened their own studio, DC did the umbrella approach, with DC and WB working together, which has been hit or miss. Batman = hit, GL/Superman = miss.

There's an old clause where the film rights to Superman go back to the families of Shuster and Siegel if they don't make a film every so often. I think the timeline is much more forgiving than Marvel's deals w/ Sony and Fox, though.

And oh yeah, there's still lawsuits floating around from the estate of Jack Kirby over FF, Hulk, etc.

StoPPeRmobile: Mad_Radhu: Mugato: Christ, a Fantastic Four reboot movie? Really?

Technically, this is probably more of a mulligan.

I'd like to see some sort of an Amalgam movie, just to spazz off the die hard nerdinistas out there. It'd be a glorious symphony of asploded heads heard 'round the world.

The only thing more implausible than super heroes, space aliens, time travel, magic, or the Daily Planet is giant super media conglomerates actually working together to use their intellectual properties to make an interesting movie.

With GREAT casting it could be good. That being said, Moleman and his giant monsters would be VERY interesting. Doom needs a big time re-cast as the last guy sucked hard.

They should just make a Dr. Doom movie, fark the Fantastic Four.

mekki: If he keeps the same realistic, brutal feeling he created for Chronicle and puts it in FF, I am in. I was shocked at how good Chronicle was. Expected it too be another groan worthy, so bad it's good found footage sci-fi/fantasy movie. Instead, I had my heart broken by Andrew, (I'm sorry. I mean, AAAAANNNNDDDDRRREEEWWW!) and wanting a sequel where him and Steve come back. I don't know how but, dammit, I want them back.

He managed to produce a better live-action Akira than the planned live-action Akira. It was indeed a much better movie than I thought it would be and a brilliant take on the found-footage genre.

I am confident in his ability to take on the Fantastic Four. We're not in "shut up and take my money" territory just yet, but we're close.

Are people taking a lot of drugs?

YES: A Fantastic Four movie might be a good idea
NO: A Fantastic Four movie would not be a good idea

Confabulat: Jessica Alba and Reed Richards were some of the worst miscasting for a comic book movie

I don't recall: who'd they cast as Jessica Alba?

How many dicks does Joe Quesadilla Rancho Heuvos have to suck in order to get the rights for Spiderman and the Fantastic Four back for Marvel studios?

Seriously, he should get on with the cock gobblin' because it aint going to get any cheaper in the future.
