FTFA:New Jersey also prohibits the sale of turtles. But according to an announcement released today by the Hunterdon County Health Department and written by the state and the CDC, the health commissioner may allow the purchase of larger turtles if they are sold for research, "other zoological purposes" or as food.

I'll take mine deep fried on a stick.

She's never made me heave, but she's done plenty from the other end. I consider Koopa my personal diet tonic; I can clean her tank, then eat the rest of the week with no regrets. Helps keep my iron stomach strong.

My guess is they're not eating the turtles. It's just that nasty ass kids never wash their hands. They're like walking petri dishes. I won't touch 'em.

Why do they say small turtles cause this? The article says not to handle the animals under 4", do they outgrow salmonella at 4 1/4" ?
