I sometimes wonder how much of the Holder witchhunt is motivated by a desire to undermine the authority of a guy who will be weighing in on voter registration problems.

I know it's an election year, and so someone in the Obama administration has to be smeared. Why him, though? Could his interest in the Florida election rolls scandal, in particular, make him a good target?

MyRandomName: Knew this would be about the congressional records bit. Liberals are too stupid to understand how congress works. This type of maneuver has been pulled multiple times, it is not illegal. Sorry that the applications prove the doj lied to congress, shouldn't you be outraged more by that?

It's also not illegal to vote on repealling health care 34 times, or restricting abortion rights or taking away voting rights from people old enough to have voted for or against FDR unless they get a free state ID which they can't get for free without the $52 birf certificate. Liberals do know how congress works to help US citizens. Conservatives know how to manipulate congress, but not for US citizens to benefit from.

skullkrusher: iq_in_binary: Wrong. The AZ AG prohibited them from seizing the guns and told them to build a stronger case. His fault.

How does the Attorney General of a state have the authority to tell a Federal LO agency what to do? you have a link?

You have a future as a press secretary.

I love how guns don't kill people during discussions of gun violence/fire alarm regulation but when Democratic administration follows through with a Republican administration policy of tracking smuggled guns, it's the guns themselves that did the murdering.

Surely the innocent drug cartels were just live and let live hippies until Obama forced guns down their throats.

If they didn't get the tagged guns, they would have gotten other guns.

\How is that Republicans are ignorant hypocrites on just about every issue?

Fark Headline: The man is a guilty law breaker!
TF Article: He is allowed to do this under Speech or Debate Clause of the Constitution...

/they are grasping at straws to cover for an Attorney General that allowed guns to be smuggled to drug cartels which lead to the deaths of 100s including US Government Agents
//100s of Dead People vs a Constitutional Activity, glad to see where the priorities are...

MrEricSir: That's funny, a very similar thing is happening here in SF; the mayor brought the sheriff in for an ethics trial, but now the major himself is accused of committing perjury for his statements during the trial. Oops!

Mirkirimi definitely punched his wife and left a bruise. He admitted it by pleading to a lesser charge and should take his sorry ass to another profession other than being sheriff. And yes his pigheadedness threatens to bring down the mayor who talked to someone he under oath said he didn't. A walking clusterfark destructing everything he touches.

s1ugg0: Anyone else starting to think that all our elected officials are border line retarded?

It's like the lunatics running the asylum these days.

Oh, both sides are bad? No, I only think one side are the lunatics. Let's not solve the problems with the economy. Let's have a witch hunt on the AG for implementing Bush's plan. And let's vote to repeal healthcare 32 flicking times. 32.

Peter von Nostrand: Issa's inquest is a BS political side show to try and make Obama look bad in an election year.

My hope is that once this dust settles, the Attorney General's office opens an investigation into why US attorneys in the state of Arizona refused to indict gunrunning suspects despite having evidence obtained by the ATF coupled with requests to indict these people in-hand.

And, why John Dodson illicitly trafficked firearms against ATF and prosecutors' orders a week before going on vacation, and personally refusing to interdict those firearms after the fact.
