Really sick of the tired point "They are accusing me of something, obviously they are just tools of the opposition" that gets trotted out whenever an official gets busted doing something dickish.

Issa's inquest is a BS political side show to try and make Obama look bad in an election year. The only thing that has mattered to the Republicans is making him a one term President. If they gotta bend or break a few laws, or keep the economy dragging.. so be it

That's funny, a very similar thing is happening here in SF; the mayor brought the sheriff in for an ethics trial, but now the major himself is accused of committing perjury for his statements during the trial. Oops!

Going by the standards of Obama-bashing, the fact that he's a Zionist*1, baby-killing*2, radical jihadist*3, whose parents were not even Christian*4 should overshadow his youthful shenanigans.

As much as I hate Issa, I was under the impression that ANYTHING could be entered into Congressional Records without breaking the law under Article 1, Section 6 of the US Constituion. That's how the Pentagon Papers were legally made public.

My hope is that once this dust settles, the Attorney General's office opens an investigation into why US attorneys in the state of Arizona refused to indict gunrunning suspects despite having evidence obtained by the ATF coupled with requests to indict these people in-hand.

And, why John Dodson illicitly trafficked firearms against ATF and prosecutors' orders a week before going on vacation, and personally refusing to interdict those firearms after the fact.

it can be. TFA says he isn't in any potential trouble for that. Sharing that info with reporters is what could get him into trouble. However, since the Congressional Record IS public, I don't see how that is an issue either. Cat's already out of the bag, so to speak

Mirkirimi definitely punched his wife and left a bruise. He admitted it by pleading to a lesser charge and should take his sorry ass to another profession other than being sheriff. And yes his pigheadedness threatens to bring down the mayor who talked to someone he under oath said he didn't. A walking clusterfark destructing everything he touches.

This is a shameful attempt by the far-left crook Holder to smear an upstanding, God-fearing, Republican white.

I mean...American. An upstanding, God-fearing, Republican American.

Shame on him.

Issa did not break the law. He is a Descent Patriotic doing what needs to be done to handle things correctly. That's like saying Bruce Willis broke the law in Die Hardier With a Revengence. Sure he did things that are *fingerquotes* illegal, but in the bigger picture he saved a bank from some foreigner. Issa is working on a bigger picture, like saving us from Ni-blahs who he believes did something wrong. In Issa's mind there is no act he could commit that would be *fingerquotes* illegal in apprehending Holder.

The GOP is trying to make the Atty General look bad because the GOP is engaged in numerous questionably legal voter suppression cases, among other things, and they know Holder is going to be coming after them.
Not the smartest strategy but these are not smart men.

I love how guns don't kill people during discussions of gun violence/fire alarm regulation but when Democratic administration follows through with a Republican administration policy of tracking smuggled guns, it's the guns themselves that did the murdering.

Surely the innocent drug cartels were just live and let live hippies until Obama forced guns down their throats.

If they didn't get the tagged guns, they would have gotten other guns.

\How is that Republicans are ignorant hypocrites on just about every issue?

2012-07-11 05:55:04 PM
I'm a little surprised I'm the first one to point this out:

The tags include "attorney generals". The plural of attorney general is not attorney generals. It is attorneys general, like surgeons general or courts-martial.

when your doods might have been killed by their doods with guns that your doods gave to them, it's worth looking into regardless of whether they would've gotten guns from somewhere else.

You know what? Find me a single solitary gun store employee who says they were forced to make a straw sale. A single, solitary one. You won't. I know, I know a few gun store owners in AZ, they wanted me to come work for them. The whole story is bullshiat.

When anyone can provide me an example of a gun shop owner or employee who was "forced" to make a straw sale, I'll change my mind behind the situation. Until then, the AZ attorney general is solely to blame for not letting the ATF agents seize the guns.

We have reached a point where those in power have so much legal protection that they can say what they want about past crimes and never be prosecuted. This is how Russia operates. Welcome to the new order of power politics.
