His plan to create jobs centers around cutting as many government programs as possible along with the people who are employed by those programs. Bless the poor man and his sweet noggin, he really does think you can create jobs with lay-offs and outsourcing.

Fark and all

The audience described in the linked article seems to strongly disagree with this statement.

All we can really surmise is that they think Romney would be worse(probably true).

That and that they would rather keep PPACA. Did you read the part where they booed extensively when Romney started yammering about repealing Obamacare? That wasn't some broad idea of Romney vs Obama they were booing, it was a specific point that Romney made.

Ned Stark: But even if we accept your deeper reading, so what if they disagree?

Perception is the whole point of politics. Even if you think PPACA will directly harm black people, you will not win over the NAACP by saying you will repeal it if they disagree with you*. This is true even if you're right. Which I don't think you are.

* You here is used in a general sense, I don't actually know your opinion about PPACA.

I agree, twas bad politics. In fact, the whole rest of my Boobies was about why this speech was a terrible idea.

/thinks PPACA will harm everyone who doesn't own an insurance company or a hospital in the long run

Funny how old Lady Pitt goes on about Reverend Wright and his church inferring that a'la the propaganda she's been spoon feed by the racist RW media Obama was somehow being racist and evil for attending while she viewed Mitt as such a Godly man.

Fun facts: Trinity United Church was founded in 1961 in a school gymnasium in a Chicago that was still segregated by "color lines".

It would be another 5 years before they moved into their first church building in 1966.

It was another 12 years in 1978 when Mitt Romney's church allowed blacks to become priests.

Mitt Romney was 31 at the time.

But Obama went to the racist church, right, Mrs P?

Hmmm... It loses something in translation.

It was only Labour (with the 'U', as with neighbour). And for those that don't know: 'if you want a n***er for a neighbour, vote Labour' was a conservative motto during a British election in the 1960s.

TheGreatGazoo: What has Obama done for the poor black communities?

Based on their reaction to Romney's statement that he would eliminate Obamacare, one could very easily conclude that this audience thinks PPACA helps them. That one should have been a freebie; you didn't need anything except the attached article to come up with it.

I would also say that repealing the upper-end of the Bush tax cuts while keeping the low-end would be an obvious one. Also the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act.

Again, these are just the completely obvious ones. I'm sure someone could come up with a much more exhaustive list if they were interested. Given that Romney is promising them nothing but empty platitudes, though, I think that should be enough.

Counter_Intelligent: "It wasn't just that my dad helped write the civil rights provision for the Mass - excuse me - Michigan Constitution, though he did," Romney said. "It wasn't just that he helped create Michigan's first civil rights commission, or that as governor he marched for civil rights in Detroit - though he did those things, too. More than these public acts, it was the kind of man he was, and the way he dealt with every person, black or white. He was a man of the fairest instincts, and a man of faith who knew that every person was a child of God."

Riding the coattails of his poppa, is he?

Today between 12:20 and 12:30 Rush Limbaugh was talking about Romney getting booed while speaking at the NAACP. He comments on how 'white' Romney sounded while speaking to the NAACP, where Obama changed they way he spoke to sound like them. Then he proceeds to do a 'blackface' interpretation of how Obama sounded.

Did anyone hear that, or get it recorded and have a link? Whenever I get a chance to listen to him I keep thinking that I can't believe he said that, but never see any followup outrage.

Granted, He is the conservative counterpart to Howard Stern (or at least what Howard Stern was 15 years ago). So any publicity for him is probably better for him than sinking into irrelevance. Perhaps it is better this stuff just slides on by.

There are statements in our literature by the early brethren which we have interpreted to mean that the Negroes would not receive the priesthood in mortality. I have said the same things, and people write me letters and say, "You said such and such, and how is it now that we do such and such?" And all I can say to that is that it is time disbelieving people repented and got in line and believed in a living, modern prophet. Forget everything that I have said, or what President Brigham Young or President George Q. Cannon or whomsoever has said in days past that is contrary to the present revelation. We spoke with a limited understanding and without the light and knowledge that now has come into the world.... We get our truth and our light line upon line and precept upon precept. We have now had added a new flood of intelligence and light on this particular subject, and it erases all the darkness and all the views and all the thoughts of the past. They don't matter any more.... It doesn't make a particle of difference what anybody ever said about the Negro matter before the first day of June of this year.

Must be nice to have a religion where you can just declare a Mulligan and start over again without ever looking back and questioning why you used to do things that way.
