The Jim Valvano Espy speech is still one of the most moving things I've ever heard. I Always give to this cause. And I'm a dick.

My favorite part is when he sees the "30 second light" pop up.

"That screen is flashing up there thirty seconds like I care about that screen right now, huh? I got tumors all over my body. I'm worried about some guy in the back going thirty seconds? You got a lot, hey va fa a napoli, buddy. You got a lot..."

They ought to auction off a chance to punch Skip Bayless in the nuts. You could cure cancer next year.

While I appreciate the V Foundation and agree it's a great cause, the day on ESPN radio is horrible to listen to.

Granted, ESPN radio is terrible to listen to any day anyhow.

I think we should email ESPN this idea. We may be on to something here!! Can we add in Stephen A. Smith as well?

I donated 10$ today, not a lot, but it's what I could do. Seeing my twitter feed full of RT of cancer survivors and stories and such. I'm a sucker for good causes and hard luck cases. maybe that's why I'll never be rich.

Companies need to stop with the research in boner pills and baldness...get on the finding a cure for cancer train.

/ESPN still sucks because their hockey coverage is dick.

How about a $10 a ticket lottery, with actual tickets saying punch Skip Bayless in the nuts for a cure!

Hell they can even do merchandise and people would swarm to that.

ESPN would shatter the dream.

First there would the highlight reel coverage that runs 24 hours a day for weeks. In slow motion. Also, endless hours of commentary and discussion about it.

Then ESPN films would make an inspirational film about it.

It just wouldn't be worth kicking him in the nuts. Now, kicking him twice in the nuts...

everyone realizes ESPN does this today because there is actually ZERO sports going on?

well... WNBA, but... like i said, there's ZERO sports going on today.

Wait...can we put Bayless and Smith in a room together, then...oh, I don't know, do something with high voltage, or fire? I'll buy a dozen tickets, right now!

It's a leap year subby we have an extra day to hate them.

When did "hate on" officially replace "hate"?

I think "hate on" means to rag on them while "hate" just means you despise them.

Ever since my father in law was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer a year or so back (he's still alive)... I can't freaking make it through 20 seconds of that speech.

Yes, that's the appropriate day to do it. They can devote a lot more attention to it. I have no problem with this.

Yes, a day spent so that people with tens of thousands of dollars to blow on meeting celebrities are hammed up on the radio, but proceeds go to a cancer charity that won't actually do anything to help cure cancer. That's what I want to listen to.
