Romney's plan for tomorrow involves speaking to the collected body of the Star Wars fanclub, while wearing a GREEDO SHOT FIRST t-shirt.

The speech will be entirely in Klingon.

While MittBot is adaptable to an infinite number of audiences and conditions, its creators did not expect it would be exposed to an Activist, Black environment until after the convention. Lacking the proper algorithms, it defaulted to its standard behavior.

Most dishonest politicians will change their message to appeal to whatever group they are talking to. It's certainly refreshing to see a candidate with the strength to stand by his position, even when he knows that his position it unpopular with the group he is addressing.

This is assuming he has a staff. Or that they have more than 1 brain cell between them. I can't believe anyone thought Mitt farking Romney would be the right choice to speak to the NAACP. What next, Barack Obama to address the KKK? Maybe doing his best Clayton Bigsby impression? My God. The fail......it was strong.

It was probably a bad idea for Romney to walk into that room and throw a bag of Tootsie Rolls into the audience while yelling 'be careful not to bite your fingers!' but I don't know if I would call it strength.

Clearly sabotage by the teleprompter industry. Which is 100% in the Obama bag, since they know that theirs is one of the few industries that will be allowed to survive the massive Great Purge scheduled for five minutes after his reinauguration.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

And before anyone defends him by saying that he was just letting the crowd know it was the end of the G.K. Chesterton quote.... no, that's not how public speaking works.

Also.... did he just quote G.K. Chesterton in front of the NAACP? Chesterton is awesome, but he's the epitome of the white, elite, intellectual, writing, cane-holding, cape-wearing, monocled, cigar-puffing, Catholic, stuffy Englishman. Seems like a bit of an odd choice...

2012-07-11 01:13:39 PM
Romney: "I believe that if you understood who I truly am in my heart, and if it were possible to fully communicate what I believe is in the real, enduring best interest of African-American families, you would vote for me for president."

Man, if you can't communicate then you don't deserve to be President.

Yes, when I think of Mitt Romney, that is exactly of what I think.

2012-07-11 01:14:09 PM
You people don't really get it, do you?

Mitt's intent was to irritate the NAACP. That was the whole point of his going.

He knows there is NO chance that he's going to get their vote...so, he engineered a speech designed to cement the votes of people that don't like the NAACP very much (i.e. the Republican base). At the same time, the speech was designed to "impress" moderate suburbanites -- after all he went into the "lion's den" and made his pitch.

Notice when Romney speaks to Latino groups, he doesn't deliver his standard stump speech. That's because he's actually trying to get Latino votes. Romney's message here wasn't aimed at the NAACP, it wasn't aimed at black voters; it was aimed at his base and at moderate suburbanites.

Goddamn, subby, give the guy a break. At least he's TRYING to not be a flip-flopper with his ...uh...flip-floppiness. uh. Or something.

...

I need to rethink that bit.
