Fair_Poopsmith: the jist of it was that the Japanese media couldn't figure out whether she is his wife or previously unknown sister.

So she's the Korean version of Meg White?

ApatheticMonkey: Yeah, I have NO freakin clue what this has to do with horses.

Any Korean speakers care to explain?

I have no idea what those Korean ladies were singing about. Truth is, I don't want to know. Some things are best left unsaid. I'd like to think they were singing about something so beautiful, it can't be expressed in words, and makes your heart ache because of it. I tell you, those voices soared higher and farther than anybody in a gray place dares to dream. It was like some beautiful bird flapped into our drab little cage and made those walls dissolve away, and for the briefest of moments, every last man on Fark felt free.

Dalrint: If she actually is the girl his dad banned her from seeing before he died, and now the old man's gone and he goes right back to her...Good for him.
That shows a fascinating amount of independence, going against the will of a dead man whom most of the country (was forced to) loved.
Might even be an indication of better things for the whole country.

That sounds like too much to hope for to me.
It seems more likely that he was simply biding his time until he could exercise every selfish wish of his.

People above are making riffs on her making him lose a few pounds, but in North Korea I wouldn't be surprised if some fat is considered attractive. We may live in a society where we can afford to do whatever the fark we want, and being thin requires more effort than being fat ala 26 minutes in the gym, but they live in a society where the best way to be skinny is "exist". Being fat could easily be attributed to being successful in their society so it wouldn't be a surprise if people grew up there thinking fat is attractive.

Why not go and piss on his grave while your at it.

Maybe he did. Or maybe he just danced a little jig in the privacy of his room. Who knows? One thing is clear, though, and that is he is going his own way. Time will tell where it leads.

Ambivalence: Does it strike anyone else as odd that someplace like North Korea has "pop stars"?

not sure if serious.jpg

Bread and Circuses keep the masses distracted the world over, from open totalitarian dictatorships to plutocracies masquerading as democracies. Of course they have pop stars.

poe_zlaw: hahahahhahaha-- Their military gives women orders to break down in tears when a funderal procession goes by. Hahahahahahaha-- What a bunch of f*ucking small penis syndrome weirdos. You cant make this stuff up.

Sure you can, all you need to be is an Australian Billionaire with an illegal media monopoly.
