He's the Elliotte Friedman of baseball.

paj: EchoMike: Dumbshiats. "God Bless America" isn't the national anthem. You don't have to stand up and cover your heart with your cap. Hell, it doesn't even need to be sung during the 7th inning stretch. What's wrong with "Take Me Out to the Ballgame?"

Do it like the Blue Jays: Link

Life long American Blue Jays fan. Finally went to Toronto for a game this year. Seventh inning stretch..."wtf is going on"

Debeo Summa Credo: bulldg4life: Debeo Summa Credo: Alright, I'm sure this has been said before in baseball threads, but it's been 11 years since 9/11. When can we stop singing god bless america during the 7th inning?

It's the new national anthem, traitor.

Why do you hate America, the troops, and God?

Sorry. My head just hasn't been right after all those car accidents I've gotten into because i cant see through the hundreds of support the troop ribbon stickers I have on my windshield. I'll add a few dozen more tonight as penance for my treasonous comment.

You can get away with a few less decals if you make sure to wear a large enough lapel pin.

Ahhhh found an article the described how useless home field advantage is in modern day baseball.

Basically its almost a statistical dead heat, with a slight edge given to the home team, meaning one little thing goes against the norm and its over

Jim Joyce no longer calling players safe on close plays at first

I wonder why

The most exciting thing about this game (after the first half inning) has been the players' shoes.

More reason to wonder why you are in this thread trying desperately to prove people should neither watch nor care about the game. Hell you are fetching stats like a damned googlebot just to prove you have better things to do. Whats your motivation?

Opie and Anthony have a feature called "One question with a guest we couldn't get" and they grab a celebrity in the hallway and ask things like "do you prefer white bread or wheat?"

Reminds me of that.

My favorite Tim McCarver moment was when Deion dumped a gatorade bucket full of water on him after the '95 WS, Tim had spent most of the series talking about how selfish Deion was for not committing to one team.

I hate Deion but this made me like him just a bit.

Drabek used to pitch for the Crosscutters in Williamsport PA. A fellow Blue Jays fan in my family would allow players to room in his basement during the season. One night after a start Drabek sat in his basement and spent all night playing Halo while drinking an entire fifth of Jack that he stole from my family member. My family member thought it was hilarious.

ATTENTION ALL THOSE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE GIANTS PLAYERS IN THE ALL-STAR GAME: HOW WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR CROW, ROASTED OR GRILLED?

steamingpile: I would like to see it broken down by decade, I would bet the closer you get to the 80s-90s HFA didnt mean as much.

Going back to 1980, the team with home field advantage has won 24 of 31 World Series championships. It matters.

Cain, Melky, and Sandoval were deserving. But I still say Posey shouldn't have been there.

Oh, I've never bothered plugging the TV in since I don't have cable. Hmm, cable line goes straight to modem. I guess I don't need to split it for just basic channels, probably need a converter though.

Let me correct myself: he shouldn't have started. And if Yadier Molina weren't on bereavement, he shouldn't have been there.

If they've trapped the line, that won't work. TV channels can be blocked at the tap. However, you can use an HDTV antenna to pick up your local stations.

Read the article I posted, baseball is the one sport it doesnt matter, the HFA is like .540 which is not a big difference, there are spikes but overall its not much of an advantage.

2012-07-10 10:59:50 PM
Yeah, I don't know how much managers in the All-Star Game pay attention to the whole 'battery' thing but I guess Posey started because Cain did.

I honestly don't have a farking clue. It's Comcast, so there's a good chance they decided to be a-holes with the line, but they were the only option with actual capability. Probably would need the antenna.
