Regarding that clip where the guy jumps over the car - did anyone else expect a second car to plow into him after he completed the jump?

Yes, I was thinking exactly that. Or at least there would be a second car to jump.

/this vid would have had all 50 kinds of awesome if there was Darth Vader on a Unicycle playing 'lady of spain' on the accordion

Is this the vid where all the guys are doing awesome things and the girls just touch branches and look pretty?

To be fair, a guy throwing a Frisbee (er, sorry, disc) looks only mildly out of place there, huh?

In my younger days, I would have thought doing stuff like this was awesome. Nowadays, I think about what a burden I'd be to my wife and daughter if I were crippled.

I'd rather watch 49 tits bouncing in slow mo.

Did that one guy die?

The next video should be of scientists working on an AIDS vaccine, or some nuns feeding homeless kids, or something. That would be awesome too.

Also, does Red Bull even sell energy drinks anymore, or are they now 100% a YouTube Extreme Sports shiat Video Maker?

More like 48 different kinds of awesome and one dorky guy that can throw a frisbee.

Also, all of Hans Zimmer's music sounds the same.

that guy who is famous for free climbing without ropes and stuff, he's expecting to die young right? One slip or perhaps getting stuck where you can't really go up or back down and it's all over so I just wonder if in his mind he's made peace with that and he's decided it's worth that risk or if he actually thinks that will somehow never happen.

Looking forward to the epitaph: "He died doing what he loved; impacting base camp at terminal velocity."

I assume you're referring to Alex Honnold and I'm sure he has. You make it sound like he's some dolt who thinks, "Hey, that looks fun I think I'll see if I can climb that rock. Hurr durr."

I might not realize he has completed routes "without ropes and stuff" that are difficult enough that only a tiny fraction of climbers would attempt the routes at all. To do the sort of stuff he does, requires not only mind blowing physical ability but also being completely stoic and 100% focused.

I don't think he's dumb, I just wonder if he doesn't care if he dies or if he doesn't think it will happen. I also recognize that he's incredibly skilled but I don't think any amount of concentration or physical ability is going to keep him from dying young

Every time I see shiate like this, I think of my former neighbor's 17-year-old son -- the one with the screws holding his femur together and the plate in his skull, acquired after wiping out ingloriously on his BMX bike while trying to ride a handrail down a flight of concrete steps. I was living in an apartment in Phoenix, AZ when the family moved in next door; they'd sold their house and wiped out their savings on health care for the kid, who, when I moved out about a year later, was ripping up the benches in the apartment building's courtyard with a skateboard.

A litany of stupid people doing life-threatening shiat.

What is this, the Travis Rice power hour or something? Don't get me wrong the man is a personal hero of mine and Art of Flight is one of the most impressive things I've ever seen but still - all the footage of him riding was from AoF.

Oh and one clip of Torstein's triple cork for good measure of course.

Not anywhere near as amazing as it could have been, methinks, and I usually love this kind of thing.

I have to believe he realizes its possible to die doing what he's doing. But I don't think he, or a lot of others, would agree that a young death is inevitable. And I would say he's already done more living at his age than a lot of people in their 50s or 60s. Sort of a corollary to what Kurt Vonnegut said, "How nice--to feel nothing, and still get full credit for being alive."

I would paraphrase your question as, "Does he value life?"

He might say something like "Yes, I value life, that's why I do this. To be a spectator in life, is not really living. They're the ones who died young."

//All this is conjecture based on my experiences in the climbing community
