Perhaps the author meant "progeny?"

nice. how much do the odds increase of having a retarded specially abled kid when you're that old? that would be some excellent inspiration for him.

also, "she's achieved some measure of success on her own, with Boxing Helena" - really? does that mean that Art Garfunkel achieved even more success with that movie?

I shudder every time I think about dave reaching down in the crib and giving the little tyke's ear a good tug, as if to see if it was still attached good or should just be thrown in an alley.

one of us, one of us

David Lynch movies make perfect sense if you mix just the right amount of PCP with your formaldehyde-soaked clickems and sherms.

I can't believe the dude who made eraserhead actually has children. That movie was like an advertisement for celibacy and/or vasectomies.

That was my first thought as well. At 66 I think the odds of the kid having autism would be sky high. Then I wondered, given how strange he is, would anyone even notice?

...leading some of us to write very dark fan fiction in college about their relationship during Blue Velvet.

Still probably lighter than the source material.

Still find it weird that Tony Randall fathered two children in his late 70s. Sure when Anthony Quinn did it, it wasn't the biggest surpriise. After all, they made a song "The Mighty Quinn" about him, but Tony Randall?

Apparently it's WAY more keyed to the mother's age than the father's. Dads over 40 only have any increased risk if the mom is under 30, according to the research I've seen. After the mom hits 30 there's more risk from her age than his.

Guess it makes sense when you figure that the woman has actually had her eggs all her life whereas sperm constantly gets renewed (even if the equipment doing the renewing might have developed problems over time).

Yup, older age of the parent increases the risk. Hero tag indeed. Should be dumbass

Look at it this way. About the time the kid gets out of diapes his father will be needing them. I guess Lynch can always hire somebody to play catch with him, teach him how to fish, throw a perfect spiral etc.as it will be too hard for him to do that from his hoveround
