Isn't the Super Bowl Half Time lip synced? Is it really worth it?

"Yeah, well, we had an opportunity to play (the Olympics closing ceremony), but there were all kinds of crazy rules going on about lip-synching and stuff like that. That's just not our bag, man."

I know Eddie means well, but the Super Bowl halftime show has only involved big-name rock acts since the 90s. Before then, it was a mix of marching bands, Up With People, and Elvis Presto.

AC/DC before VH.

As long as it's as good as the Black Eyed Peas half time show it's okay with me. Madonna was pretty awesome last year too.

Don't disrespect Up With People. They helped our teenagers stay off of LSD.

I have yet to see a halftime show that didn't make me want to vomit, and that includes the one with the delicious nipple.

Their message didn't read everyone, my friend. One of my friends still thinks he'll turn into orange juice if anyone touches him.

I just had this fantastic mental image of GWAR performing live on millions of unsuspecting peoples' TVs during half time. I keep envisioning the barf-o-rama scene from stand by me.

Yup. It's certainly the only one I remember being good without someone jogging my memory. I mean, I guess the Boss had his moments, but it was weird seeing him there.

You can't call it a 'holy grail' if you actually end up finding it.

No way, The Who with a dead Entwistle and Moon, a deaf Townshend and a Daltrey with no voice gets that title. Zak Starkey and Pino Palladino are excellent musicians, but still.

How did Prince get away with this:

I'm 52, a total classic rock fan, but even I'm sick of bands way past their prime being trotted out at halftime because of boomer nostalgia. What's even worse is that those acts are considered so safe and nonthreatening that they are considered in the first place.

My choice:

They have 15 minutes, right? That should be enough for 2 songs.

As someone who is from Indiana. I am still outraged we got stuck with that piece of shiat bag of antlers Madonna. So as punsihment I hope they pick Knickleback to bless the next Superbowl.

I looked in the mirror today
My eyes just didn't seem so bright
I've lost a few more hairs
I think I'm going bald

I think I'm going bald

Seems like only yesterday
We would sit and talk of dreams all night
Dreams of youth
And simple truths
Now we're so involved
So involved with life

Walk down vanity fair
Memory lane everywhere
Wall Street shuffles there
Dressed in flowing hair

Once we loved the flowers
Now we ask the price of the land
Once we would take water
But now it must be wine
Now we've been
And now we've seen
What price peace of mind

Take a piece of my mind

My life is slipping away
I'm aging every day
But even when I'm grey
I'll still be grey my way

Yeah, Prince set the bar pretty damn high. If you're going to top it, you'll have to be a better guitar player than he is and sorry Eddie, you're not.
