Waaaaah! There's nothing illegal with what they are doing. Reflagging is a common maritime practice.

Mr Berman needs to worry about creating US jobs, and reviving a sick US economy, instead of wasting his time making his AIPAC brothers happy.

I assume he's going to ask the same about the Bahamas and Panama reflagging US vessels.

Iran is the world's fourth largest oil producer. Shouldn't we be friends with them? It's not like the Israelis have any oil. We've got the whole relationship backwards.

I don't think the US government is particularly a fan of US shipping companies registering their vessels in foreign countries to avoid US regulations.

But it's causing a problem for the US.

Mr Berman needs to worry about creating US jobs, and reviving a sick US economy, instead of wasting his time making his AIPAC brothers happy.

you sound concerned about Mr Berman's priorities, acanuck.

yes indeed, very concerned.

If anthropogenic global warming is going to submerse their island home at least this way they might get some cash out of it. Maybe enough to put the whole island on stilts. I'm envisioning a tiki-hut version of Venice.

Officials from the country's permanent mission to the United Nations were not immediately available for comment.

Howard Berman is one of the most useless, least engaged reps in the history of the country. Considering the guy only got the seat because his brother was the one in charge of redistricting you'd think he'd at least pretend to give a shiat about his constituents.

Crossing fingers that Sherman can beat him.

You know what else is a common practice? biatchslapping countries with sanctions when they help evil countries evade sanctions.

We were until BP* started crying about about Iran getting uppity about their oil contracts at which point the US was told the government of Iran had to be overthrown to keep the commies from getting the oil that rightfully belonged to the Brits. The new BP loving government wasn't liked very much by the general population so they were happy when the Islamists took over. Doubtful the Ayatollah and friends would have been taken over if the Iran hadn't been destablized. So really, the government over their should be thankful to the US and the UK for making their revolution possible.

* Think they were using the name Angloil or The Anglo Oil Company at the time.

The oceans are not rising, Tuvalu is sinking. Helping Iran evade sanctions is a sanctional offense.
