Weaver95: the sad part is that what Bain capital did wasn't actually all that unique. hell, Bain wasn't even the industry leader when it came to f*cking over US citizens and destruction of local economies.

Yes, but they pioneered the technique of systematically shipping jobs to China and India.

More on Romney:

1) Romney not only shipped jobs overseas, he made a fortune doing it
2) As Governor, he vetoed legislation that would have banned companies from shipping state jobs overseas
3) This veto allowed MA to move state customer-service jobs to India
4) The Romney-Ryan budget includes tax breaks and economic incentives for companies that move jobs overseas

Can't teach an old dog new tricks...

Does Romney really think that focusing on the outsourcing of jobs is something that works in his favor?

tallguywithglasseson: Does Romney really think that focusing on the outsourcing of jobs is something that works in his favor?

In 2004, we had a candidate who went to Vietnam and earned a Silver Star, a Bronze Star with Valor, and three Purple Hearts. The other specifically signed up with a non-deployable Texas Air National Guard unit.

Candidate B's team successfully painted Candidate A as a coward.

America is that stupid.

For example, a helpful Fark Independent will reply to this comment and inadvertently prove my point.

Psychological projection or projection bias is a psychological defense mechanism where a person subconsciously denies his or her own attributes, thoughts, and emotions, which are then ascribed to the outside world, usually to other people. Thus, projection involves imagining or projecting the belief that others originate those feelings.[1]

The "Shadow"-a term used in Jungian psychology to describe a variety of psychological projection-refers to the projected material.[12] Jungians consider that 'Political agitation in all countries is full of such projections, just as much as the backyard gossip of little groups and individuals'. wherever known reality stops, where we touch the unknown, there we project an archetypal image".[14]

I'm okay with outsourcing, since I've done a bit of that myself. I've outsourced my warehousing and fulfillment to someone much larger and more competent at it than I.

If Obama has managed to outsource some government functions to competitive bidding...

Wait a second, you could make the argument that Bush was the outsourcer in cheif, with all those government contracts to Halliburton, L3, Marriott and the like to deliver resources and services to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. And that wasn't even competitive bidding in most cases.

Capt. Ramsey: From Portugal. The Lipizzaner stallions. The most highly trained horses in the world. They're all white?
Hunter: Yes, sir.
Capt. Ramsey: "Yes, sir" you're aware they're all white or "Yes, sir" you've seen them?
Hunter: Yes, sir I've seen them. Yes, sir I was aware that they're are all white. They are not from Portugal; they're from Spain and at birth, they're not white; they're black. Sir.
Capt. Ramsey: I didn't know that. But they are from Portugal.
Capt. Ramsey: Some of the things they do, uh, defy belief. Their training program is simplicity itself. You just stick a cattle prod up their ass and you can get a horse to deal cards.
Capt. Ramsey: Simple matter of voltage.

Not only does he have a poor track record of "job creation" given his time at Bain Capital, but Obama is campaigning against the same style of health care reform he implemented as governor of MA, which throws his basic credibility into question. Furthermore, the eight years of Obama's presidency from 2001-2009 were marked by the biggest terrorist attack in US history, two unnecessary and unwinnable wars and the largest economic crash since the Great Depression. As if that weren't enough, his "Southern Strategy" in the late '60s was a blatant and cynical attempt to appeal to white supremacists to divide the "Solid South" against his political opponents, to the general detriment of both the American political discourse and progress in civil rights in general. His term as president of the Confederacy alone should be enough to turn any potential voters away from Obama. WTF is this guy's problem?

JERRY: I know, I hated those kids. In fact, I hate anyone that ever had a pony when they were growing up.

MANYA: ..I had a pony.

(The room is dead quiet)

JERRY: ..Well, I didn't really mean a pony, per se.

MANYA: (Angry) When I was a little girl in Poland, we all had ponies. My sister had pony, my cousin had pony, ..So, what's wrong with that?

JERRY: Nothing. Nothing at all. I was just merely expressting..

HELEN: Should we have coffee? Who's having coffee?

MANYA: He was a beautiful pony! And I loved him.

JERRY: Well, I'm sure you did. Who wouldn't love a pony? Who wouldn't love a person that had a pony?

MANYA: You! You said so!

JERRY: No, see, we didn't have ponies. I'm sure at the time in Poland, they were very common. They were probably like compact cars..

MANYA: That's it! I've had enough! (She leaves the room)

ISAAC: Have your coffee, everyone. She's a little upset. It's been an emotional day.

(Isaac leaves, everyone looks at Jerry)

JERRY: I didn't know she had a pony. How was I to know she had a pony? Who figures an immigrant's going to have a pony? Do you know what the odds are on

that? I mean, in all the pictures I saw of immigrants on boats coming into New York harbor, I never saw one of them sitting on a pony. Why would anybody come

hre if they had a pony? Who leaves a country packed with ponies to come to a non-pony country? It doesn't make sense.. am I wrong?

So Romney is going to make prohibiting outsourcing a priority when he gets elected. Uh huh.
2012-07-10 07:16:21 PM
So this is how the campaign is going to be... he hides his finances, denies it... outsources jobs, denies it... calls for firing firefighters, then denies it... I mean hell, at this point, I'm pretty sure he's also denying that he was ever at Bain Capital and that he ever even heard of the state of Massachussets.

Somehow, I'm thinking this isn't quite going to stick... the guy who wanted to let detroit fail is ragging the guy who bailed out the auto industry about how he would have created more American jobs... I'm not buying it (liberal), moderates aren't buying it (they didn't do enough drugs to impair their memory)... the only people this rhetoric speaks to are those too drunk to remember who Romney is in the first place

Weaver95: BunkoSquad: Weaver95: Um...does Romney know that he isn't fooling anyone? I mean...he DOES know that damn near everyone has internet access now, right?

He also knows that his base is comprised of some of the dumbest m-f's who are able to put on pants and get themselves to a political rally without crashing into a tree, so it was a calculated gamble.

well yeah, but he already had their votes. Romney needs the votes of the moderates and independents....and he's not doing a very good job of recruiting those voters to his side. Eventually Romney is going to have to confront his background as a robber baron/vulture capitalist. the longer he avoids the issue and/or denies it, the bigger the problem gets for him.

The delicious irony is the same tactic the retared birthers used is going to be used on Rmoney over his history at Bain and his tax returns. Only this time moderates and independents will actually pay attention because there is substance to the inquiry instead of wild conspiracy theories. People are going to keep asking questions and what's wrong with asking questions? If there is nothing to hide why wont he just release his records? It will all go away if he does.
2012-07-10 07:21:36 PM
Wait, what? Is Romney trying to imply that Obama gave stimulus money to be spent overseas? Or does he not even know what outsourcing means?
2012-07-10 07:24:06 PM
A few weeks ago, the Washington Post and the Obama campaign worked together to attack Governor Mitt Romney with proven lies about outsourcing. Though this attack has been exposed as a lie, that didn't stop Barack Obama from continuing the attack, nor has it stopped his Media Palace Guards from attempting to drag Romney into the trap of responding to these lies.

Rather than make Obama pay a price for lying -- which the media would do to a Republican -- the media chose instead to try to pressure Romney into the no-win debate of attempting to prove a negative, which would've only hurt him more than the lies themselves. Polls now prove Romney made the correct decision.

Another superb decision the Romney campaign made was to take their time, get some facts together, and fight back against Obama's and the Washington Post's lies on offense.

It seems as though our current President, who is now posing as Mr. In-Sourcer-in-Chief, not only squandered nearly a trillion of our dollars on a failed stimulus, but also used our money to create jobs in foreign countries such as France, Italy, Russia, Mexico, and so on and on and on.

RNC Chair Reince Priebus:

What do Finnish cars, Mexican solar panels, and Danish windmills have in common? They were all funded by your tax dollars.

Thanks to President Obama, taxpayer money, mostly in the form of stimulus funds, ended up in the hands of companies overseas. Instead of creating jobs in America, the stimulus and other Obama policies created jobs or sent money to Finland, New Zealand, Indonesia, India, Mexico, Germany, Australia, Switzerland, China, Denmark, South Korea, the Dominican Republic, Thailand, Vietnam, Italy, Russia, Luxembourg, El Salvador, Great Britain, Spain, Japan, and France.

How did this happen? Consider the example of Fisker Automotive. The company received $500 million in loan guarantees from the U.S. government to produce electric cars. Then they took their money and decided to produce their $100,000 electric sports cars in Finland.

President Obama's policies may be spurring job creation in Scandinavia. But here at home, twenty-three million Americans are struggling for work. Millions of middle class families can barely make ends meet.

The billions of dollars that went overseas largely had to be borrowed. In other words, President Obama borrowed money from countries like China to send money to... countries like China. It's that kind of reckless spending that led President Obama to rack up $5.6 trillion in debt over the last three and a half years, bringing our total national debt to $15.8 trillion.

Priebus will officially unveil all of this later today in the swing state of Iowa, and a website called "Obamanomics Outsourced" goes into great detail showing how your tax dollars and mine benefitted and created jobs in over a dozen countries not named America.

What we all know, of course, is that the very same media currently obsessed with outsourcing will never give the damning fact that Obama used our tax dollars to create jobs overseas the attention it deserves for one simple reason: it is a damning fact.

Not only does it prove the hypocrisy of President In-Sourcer, it goes straight to the heart of his failed stimulus and overall economy.

Good for the Romney campaign, though. They refused to get dragged into a media-created lie and a debate they couldn't win -- refused to be put on defense -- and now have facts to fight the fire of the media's and Obama's lies.

Because the Romney case is so strong in their counter-attack, my guess is that both Obama and his Media Palace Guards will suddenly find outsourcing a less interesting topic.

Which is still a win for our side.

by JOHN NOLTE 10 Jul 2012, 11:00 AM PDT 135 POST A COMMENT

Please excuse the loose use of the term "outsource" in my headline. But now that the Washington Post, BuzzFeed Politics, and Barack Obama have defined outsourcing as "Something Romney never did but is guilty of anyway," I wanted to get in the spirit of things.

Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz has been running around for a few days now sliming up the airwaves with smears and innuendo that started with this article written by Vanity Fair's Nicholas Shaxson, a bigtime leftist and Occupy supporter. Essentially, the Wasserman Schultz talking point has been: "We don't know what Romney's hiding in his shady finances so we need to find out."

Really, Debbie? Well, we don't know if you tortured small animals on-camera, and until you release all of your home movies we won't know.

Obviously, in her desire to help our frantic and increasingly erratic President save his sorry self, Wasserman Schultz forgot her own record when it comes to offshoring money with the Swiss:

[D]isclosure forms reveal that in 2010, Wasserman Schultz invested between $1,001-$15,000 in a 401k retirement fund run by Davis Financial Fund. As the fund discloses, it is invested in the Julius Baer Group Ltd. and the State Bank of India GDR Ltd., as well as other financial, insurance, bank institutions.

"The Julius Baer Group is the leading Swiss private banking group, focusing exclusively on the demands of sophisticated private clients, family offices and external asset managers from around the world," its website explains. "Bank Julius Baer is the principal operating company of the Julius Baer Group, with origins dating back to 1890. The rich Swiss heritage becomes manifest in the values for which the Bank stands, e.g. trustworthiness, accountability, discretion and expertise. However, at the same time Julius Baer is a modern, forward-looking company at the leading edge of a genuine growth industry."

Similarly, according to disclosure forms from 2004, Wasserman Schultz had holdings in the Fidelity Advisor Overseas Fund. That fund is invested in HSBC bank (a British financial institution), Hengdeli Holdings (a Hong Kong watch company), Novo Nordisk (a Danish drug company), Volkswagen (a German auto company), Rakuten (a Japanese shipping business), Richemont Cie Financiere (a Swiss luxury goods company), and many others.

Wasserman Schultz also obviously forgot about New Media. After decades of Democrats counting on the mainstream media to cover up and downplay inconvenient facts such as these, you can understand how that might happen.

I don't know about you, but I can't wait for Wasserman Schultz's next appearance on Fox News. After all, we know no one at CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, Politico, or the Washington Post will ever talk about this. Obama's failing, and the only thing that can save him is The Narrative. -- and this kills The Narrative.

By the way, is Barack Obama still snorting cocaine? We won't know until he agrees to a blood test, will we?
2012-07-10 07:29:10 PM
There's nothing "ironic" about this... unless you want to apply the label to the Obama campaign retroactively now that the truth is out.

Obama: Romney shipped jobs overseas using private investment capital that was part of a mutually agreed upon transaction. I feel that he should do things my way, which is to send money and jobs overseas using money you must under penalty of law provide to me.
