Well, I watched the video all the way through. He does a lot of things with that money but I can't imagine a charity is going to be too happy about accepting all those ass-dollars.

No, no, no, the ass-dollars go back to the bank vault. It's actually where the term "money-laundering" came from. Ya see, many people would assume the dollars they were holding had been in someone's ass at some point, so they would go to their local branch and exchange the dollars for clean ones, or "laundering" their money.

That is: A small pile of fungible paper. A plaything to be made malleable. A pittance.

No wonder tehy treat us so...

To me, that pile of money is freedom.

To them it is nothing but paper.

Who is "them?"

I think you know.

"I found myself in this position after asking Matthew Inman, the artist behind the cartoon and business The Oatmeal, if I could take pictures when he withdrew the cash he will ultimately hand over to the American Cancer Society and the National Wildlife Federation in order to use it to make fun of a Web site that threatened him with legal action."

this sentence should be biatchslapped out of existence. Are there no more editors?

Good on The Oatmeal. I enjoy the creators cartoons and think the person that sued the creator of the site was pulling an asshat move.

Since most of the money has already been delivered to the charities in question, I must assume that these $200,000 are his own money. So...

Why hasn't he bought any furniture?

I saw on one of the innumerable articles about this story (I forget which one) that this cash was, indeed, from his own account, and not the money raised for the charities. Trying to convert all that into cash was just too big a pain, so he just borrowed this from himself long enough to take the pictures.

Pffft. Van Gogh paintings are so pedestrian. I prefer a quality Van Impe myself.
