Romney and the Republicans really do suck that hard.

That's why.

2012-07-10 11:13:11 AM
Obama is just doing the best he can, it was that dumbass Bush and petulant GOP legislators who farked up the country.

If I have to choose between "not recovering fast enough" and "not accelerating faster towards a golden age of corporate feudalism" then Obama it is.

2012-07-10 11:14:57 AM
CW has always been that high unemployment was the death knell of an incumbent president. The fact that Rmoney can barely draw even shows just how much he sucks.

Jake Havechek: Obama is just doing the best he can, it was that dumbass Bush and petulant GOP legislators who farked up the country.

If Obama had spent as much energy trying to restore the economy in lieu of trying to get healthcare passed, his numbers would be much better.

As it stands, we are underemployed, disabled, etc.

2012-07-10 11:20:18 AM
We should elect more Republicans to fix our problems. They are real problem solvers.

2012-07-10 11:20:18 AM
No surprise.
Cool and hip trumps quality.
Look at the popularity of Bieber and the Kardashians.

Done in one.

EnviroDude: If Obama had spent as much energy trying to restore the economy in lieu of trying to get healthcare passed

We spend 16% of GDP on healthcare. Fixing the latter is necessary to fix the former.

FTFY

It is easy to forget that GWB had an approximately 30% approval rating when he
left office; that should frighten anyone with a nervous system more complex than
a notochord.

I thought government couldn't fix the economy?

And once again you post without suggesting an alternative solution. What do your ilk on the right propose to fix things, or are you just content pointing out that Obama isn't perfect?

2012-07-10 11:24:24 AM
I seem to recall the reason for Dubya getting re-elected most quoted in polls following the victory was that people thought he was "virtuous".

Pretty sure neither party has cornered the market on stupid (though I admit the GOP's strategy in that market is far more aggressive).

I'm also pretty sure public opinion polls are utterly meaningless.

mitchcumstein1: I thought government couldn't fix the economy?

Well according to some of the graphs I've seen, apparently only Democrats can fix the economy. Republicans just past unfunded government expansions and wreck the economy.

Voters who think that Obama sucks at the economy, jobs, health care, immigration and has the country headed in the wrong direction are more likely to actually vote. Those who support him only because he's all cool and hip and shiat probably got better things to do on election day.

2012-07-10 11:46:34 AM
In another measure, moreover, 75 percent of Obama's supporters say they mainly are for him, rather than against his opponent. For Romney that shifts dramatically - just 37 percent of his supporters mainly are for him, while 59 percent say they're chiefly opposed to Obama.

At 11:45 on 10 July, 2012, SkinnyHead calls the election for Rmoney.

2012-07-10 11:48:05 AM
It's clear that Romney is the GOP John Kerry. A winnable election against a president whose popularity isn't what it once was and yet the "quality" candidates are loathe to run against an incumbent... so the party nominates a tool who will totally fark up because he isn't able to distinguish between when he shouldn't say something and when he should.

The smart money, based on everything we know, is on Obama winning re-election. But it's not likely to be a landslide. I'm hoping that it comes down to allegations of fraud/wrongdoing in Ohio, just because I like living in uncertain and interesting times.

Obama sucks at the economy

Dow: Jan 30 2009= 8,000.86
Dow: Jan 27 2012=12,660.46

, jobs,

Unemployment Jan 2010 (start of Obama's first budget year) = 9.7%
Unemployment today= 8.2%

health care,

January 2009, no national health care policy
Today, ACA is law.

immigration

Record numbers of undocumented immigrants deported

he's all cool and hip and shiat so we're going to re-elect him

Damned right we are.

Now subby, for future reference, remember that if all of your premises are false, your conclusion is almost certain to be false too, and if you have to lie to advance your political agenda, your agenda probably isn't worth it.

Bush is to be blamed for the hole Obama started in, however, you can blame all the improvements since then on Obama (see FloydA's post above).

So, what, exactly, do you think Mitt Romney will offer as an improvement? I would guess that you're going to vote for him, so, why?

Which policy positions has he offered that you think he'll push? Which positions has he defined that you think would benefit the US?

I propose the same question as I just asked another shill Farker:

What do you propose to fix this country. What is your message, aside from attacking the incumbent? When elected, would you actually have a plan or just keep mouthing off cheap weaksauce rhetoric?

Has any post you have ever made included an opinion/citation of things you would do differently? Well, if you're not part of the solution, then STFU and let the adults handle things.

2012-07-10 12:14:26 PM
Real Clear Politics has:
Virginia: Obama +3.0
Florida: Obama +1.2
Iowa: Obama +2.5
Ohio: Obama +2.6
Pennsylvania: Obama +8.0
Michigan: Obama +1.5
New Hampshire: Obama +5.8
Wisconsin: Obama +3.5
Colorado: Obama +3.5
Nevada: Obama +5.3
North Carolina: Romney +1.3

If the election were held tomorrow, they have Obama 332, Romney 206.

Small margins, but the last month has looked good for the incumbent.

wait - he's all cool and hip and people like him? i thought he was a liberal elitist!

but then he's also a:

• muslim-kenyan/radical black christian/closet atheist
• silver-tongued hypnotist/bumbling teleprompter addict
• marxist-socialist/corporatist tool of wall street and big oil
• empty suit/all-powerful illuminatus puppet master
• craven liberal/bellicose war monger

he's all things to all republicans!

Pfff, like Romney reads Fark. Oh wait....

Seriously though, I'm still waiting to hear details from Romney. So far we have:

- extend Bush tax cuts (of course)
- repeal Affordable Health Care Act.
- Ryan budget? I think? Is he even still in favor of that?
- As for his specific economic plan, well... um... Obama bad!
