RolandGunner: Yeah, now all we need to do is reduce Europe to rubble to spur a building boom and hamstring all competitors!

That had nothing to do with America spending money on education, small business loans, infrastructure, and government jobs that created the middle class that disappeared when Reagan got his hands on it

spmkk: Yes - because the pie is a fixed size. That's totally how the economy works!

That's exactly how the money supply works, unless you print your own money. There is only a limited amount in circulation.

spmkk: intelligent comment below: "spmkk: Because my main goal is not to lower someone else, but to elevate myself.

That's statistically impossible when the wealthy continue to increase their share of the pie"

Yes - because the pie is a fixed size. That's totally how the economy works!

So they can have 99.5% of the pie as long as it keeps growing? How exactly is that not the gelded age?

Either you knew that gelded = gilded or you still buy your cereal based on the prize inside

I think we can all just agree that a gilded cage sounds vastly preferable to a gelded one.

You really think that money = currency?

Boy are you in for a surprise when you wake up.

Start off by looking at fractional reserve banking.

Yeah - M-2 is really the best way to look at money in the system.

But a lot of people don't understand what fractional reserve banking is. They think that if they deposit $100 in a bank, that bank cannow loan out $1000. Which is completely wrong.

GeneralJim: I know this is true in at least ONE case.

GeneralJim: Heck, look upthread. It's almost always a leftist who brings up race first.

Your post is a steaming pile of bullshiat. PLONK.

Okay, check for yourself, jackass: Take some random number of political threads which might involve Obama. Look down the thread for the first mention of race. Was it made by a leftist or a rightist? Tally. Repeat. Report your results.

"The only reason they don't like Obama is they don't like an uppity n****er in the White House." . . . "We get it, he's black." . . . "Racist TEAbag scum..."

It's, like, CONSTANT. But, oh, yes, DENY it all, and ignore anyone telling the truth. It may not work, but it has a long leftist tradition. (Trotsky? Who's that?)

These false flag DNC operatives have been so insidious is to actually infiltrate the leadership of the tea partier movement and make them look like a bunch of racist idiots. The true compassionate and tolerant tea partiers need to take back this movement from these agents provacateurs.

Wow! Now THAT is how you troll, people. Observe and learn... We don't often agree, but this was friggin' GREAT, you magnificent bastard, you!

GeneralJim: Calmamity: Because they have admitted numerous times that all they care about is getting a Republican elected in November, country be damned.

That's a particularly ugly lie. Show one quote from any national figure saying that, or STFU -- and an apology would be in order too, you lying sack.

Mitch McConnell & Rush Limbaugh count?

Not Rush, he's a professional troll; he'll say ANYTHING inflammatory. But if you have something from Mitch McConnell saying that he's willing to hurt America to get rid of Obama, bring it out.

The single most important thing"for Republicans is to make Obama a one-term president, spoken by Mitch McConnell.

General Jim, I've come to the conclusion that you're an asshole, and a particularly arrogant one at that. Calamity spoke the truth, and you jumped down his throat.

I cannot allow a piece of shiat like you to treat others with no respect and get away with it.

I only give respect when it's earned, asshat, and you're in negative territory already.

And, you're a lying sack -- that is NOT what he said. Nice of you to create a false quote, and argue against that. What he said, in that clip, is " ... the top political priority, over the next two years, should be to deny President Obama a second term." (Emphasis mine)

Well, duh. "Our top political goal is to make Obama a one-term President." Is a long way from "screw the old ladies if I can get a vote out of it." And, what would you think? That the Republicans were working to re-elect Obama? (Newsflash from the Romerocopter: DNC supports the election of Democratic candidates, even if they are not the best choice. Film on this late-breaking scandal at 11.)

And of course, the Democrats were exactly the same way at the end of the first term of GWB's Presidency. In fact, at least one side of the logic is that the Democrats were trying to get a recession going in 2004 It's politics. Are you really enough of a naif to think that your side is any better than the "other" side? And, it doesn't matter which "side" one is on. No, really. Politics isn't a clean game, except for the occasional oddball.
