coco ebert: I was pleasantly surprised by Tatum in that movie. He's a natural comedic actor. Better than that awful Jonah Hill.

Totally agreed.

Channing Tatum OWNED that movie thoroughly.

Who would have expected that from the Step Up guy?

Ashtrey: Although really that movie was so much better than it had any right to be that I should just go buy it. I saw it with LOW expectations, reluctantly. Laughed my ass off. Might have to hit Target tomorrow.

Seriously. Coincidentally I just watched this tonight. I refused to see it in the theater and waited for the Redbox. In retrospect, it would've been worth full evening admission.

I was very pleasantly surprised at how funny it was. I'm not a fan of dumb movies and hate having jokes shoved in my face which is what a lot of people probably think about 21 Jump Street but it's actually quite funny.

I looked up some info about Channing Tatum after the movie and he seems like a genuinely good guy who appreciates what fame has brought to him and his family. He's an active supporter of soldiers and veterans and almost didn't do GI Joe because he thought it would glorify war but after reading the script saw that it was a fantastical movie and not going for realism.

He has stated that he's taken roles with actors he looks up to so that he can improve himself since he never went to theatre/acting school.

Channing Tatum doesn't deserve all the flack he gets simply because people think he's a dumb jock and therefore is the worst actor on the planet.

I honestly enjoyed the movie. I thought both were very funny and the wife enjoyed the eye candy.

Christian Bale: Improv God?

Wait, is this in the same way that Justin Timberlake is a comic genius?

Oh, ok then. Tatum's an Improv God.

Cyno01: Watched this just the other night on the recommendation of farkers, and as much as i hate jonah hill, i was pleasantly surprised too.

"We're reviving a canceled undercover police program from the 80s and revamping it for modern times. You see the guys in charge of this stuff lack creativity and are completely out of ideas. So all they do now is recycle shiat from the past and expect us all not to notice."

that line was hilarious plus it was good to see them take a shot at themselves not to mention the few other times they did it in the movie like with the whole tanker not blowing up but the chicken truck did.

Scrotastic Method: Watched it with three others, we were all excited about it, and everyone thought it was crap.

You're unfunny and your friends seem dull.

The Johnny Depp scenes made the entire movie for me.

Scrotastic Method: Seriously, that was one of the worst movies I've seen in years. Never funny, Ice Cube was a farking joke, Tatum is useless, blah blah blah. Watched it with three others, we were all excited about it, and everyone thought it was crap.

Carry on with the slurpfest though.

He's never going to be an Olivier, of course. But his acting does seem to be progressing.

I'd stick a fiver in his thong.

Even though a skinny Jonah Hill creeps me out (and probably always will) that was a great movie. Never took itself seriously and deconstructed a lot of the typical action tropes ("I was sure that would blow up..."). Plus I loved all the call backs to the original series.
