Even though a skinny Jonah Hill creeps me out (and probably always will) that was a great movie. Never took itself seriously and deconstructed a lot of the typical action tropes ("I was sure that would blow up..."). Plus I loved all the call backs to the original series.

I would hope so because he certainly can't act out a script worth a damn.

All that and talent too?? I hates him

He's never going to be an Olivier, of course. But his acting does seem to be progressing.

I'd stick a fiver in his thong.

That bit about overdubbing Chris Parnell's line because of Whitney Houston is interesting.

In lieu of Neil deGrasse Tyson, we have Channing Tatum here to talk about the Higgs boson.

Any insight into these recent developments, Mr. Tatum?

I dunno, I thought Ice Cube was funny as the angry black police captain.

And it was nice of Johnny Depp to do the obligatory cameo whenever there's a tv show to movie remake.

It was rather shocking because Depp for years refused to acknowledge being on that show and took it off his resume. Glad he got off his high horse in his old age.

Said member, the filmmakers reveal, was actually half a banana purchased from a local shop, with a touch of stage blood applied. The result is surprisingly realistic.

Oh yeah. That definitely looked like a dick to me.

Seriously, that was one of the worst movies I've seen in years. Never funny, Ice Cube was a farking joke, Tatum is useless, blah blah blah. Watched it with three others, we were all excited about it, and everyone thought it was crap.

Carry on with the slurpfest though.

Honestly, I'd completely forgotten that Peter DeLuise was in the show as well. Here I am expecting Richard Greico and got a pleasant surprise.

I was pleasantly surprised by Tatum in that movie. He's a natural comedic actor. Better than that awful Jonah Hill.

Channing Tatum OWNED that movie thoroughly.

You're unfunny and your friends seem dull.

The Johnny Depp scenes made the entire movie for me.

Yum. The movie was pretty good too.

It was ok. The tripping on the HFS was funny and the chase where there were a distinct lack of explosions cracked me up.

Anybody happened to see place where an audio file like that might fall off the back of the internet? I've looked, but apparently not in the right places.

Although really that movie was so much better than it had any right to be that I should just go buy it. I saw it with LOW expectations, reluctantly. Laughed my ass off. Might have to hit Target tomorrow.

Watched this just the other night on the recommendation of farkers, and as much as i hate jonah hill, i was pleasantly surprised too.

Seriously. Coincidentally I just watched this tonight. I refused to see it in the theater and waited for the Redbox. In retrospect, it would've been worth full evening admission.

Not sure what you are talking about, but I was talking about HD-DVD, I'm pretty confident they will win the format war over bluray.

Embrace the future.

THIS.

Also, I knew the tide had turned once the entire porn industry switched their next-gen discs from HD-DVD to Blu-Ray within less than a year of both formats coming out.

that line was hilarious plus it was good to see them take a shot at themselves not to mention the few other times they did it in the movie like with the whole tanker not blowing up but the chicken truck did.

I know it's late and probably a dead thread, but I read the only reason Depp agreed to do that cameo was if they killed the original characters, basically ending the TV run and passing it to Tatum and Hill.

difference with vhs\beta and hd-dvd\blu-ray and porn was this -

porn drove the adoption to vhs since that is what pron chose, and porn for home viewing was pretty much new.

blu-ray drove porn to that hd format because the sony playstation 3 ensured that blu-ray would win the format war.

so in one case, software (vhs porn) drove the hardware, but it is reversed for blu-ray.
