Parker apologized as he was being handcuffed.

"Sorry. He hit me first. He hit me. What was I supposed to do?" Parker asked.

Reading isn't your strong point, eh subs? The brawl happened just before a murder trial... no murder occurred during the brawl

FarkinHostile: That old dude WHOOPED their ass!

Came here to say that. Old man threw both those guys a beating :D Nicely done, geezer, nicely done. He was right though, you watch the video and the guy in red is moving Old Whoopass back as if he's trying to break up the potential fight, then throws a punch. I'm betting he needed an amberlamps....

Nice picture of the suspect in the sidebar.

"Do you want some, too?" Jason Clair asked her before at least six men in the crowd outside Len'z Dug-Out Pub on 13th Street beat him and took away his pistol, according to interviews and the arrest report.

And tasers, again.

They need to take that shiat away from cops. Or just replace the pigs with tasing robots since that's all they every do.

It is a meme.

Re-imagine it with different and more obvious examples.
I went to a _______ and a _______ broke out. The latter blank is presumed reason that most people are at an event, and the former is the real reason.

i.e, "I went to a brawl and a hockey game broke out."
Or, "I went to a demolition derby and a Nascar race started."

I am not sure if the meme works in this case since I don't believe people watch court proceedings hoping for fights to break out.

Is Parker a Barker?

What murder broke out, submitter? And it wasn't in the courtroom, it was in the hall outside.

So this Claire kid drove away and came back to shot the two brothers dead. Can someone please explain why we even need a trial? The kid drove away and came back to shot these two people. How is he ever not guilty?

Yes, because pointing a taser at someone to maintain control is much more dangerous than pointing a gun, and results in many more deaths than shooting someone who does not comply. I see your point.....um....well.....NOT!

Maybe he went home, got a gun, harassed the two brothers some more, and then stood his ground. Clear cut case of self defense, really.

Yeah, I liked this little gem too; When the gunfire started, the Kun brothers were outside the pub's front doors, standing in a handicapped parking space, according to police and witnesses. After being hit by several bullets, both brothers fell on top of a white wheelchair emblem painted on the pavement.

At that point, according to police and witnesses, Clair walked up and fired repeatedly down into the bodies until his gun was empty. Police recovered 13 shell casings.

/It's called "Stand Your Ground" not stand over the wounded and empty your gun....
//I'm sure they were bleeding in a threatening manner, it was them or him ....

The one and only time I've had the joy of taking a faceful of pepper spray was when I tried to stop a courthouse brawl from turning into a massacre. I worked for the court and we knew this particular custody hearing was going to be "contentious" so we had extra armed deputies in the waiting area outside the court, hoping they would keep things calm.

Nope.

Both contending clans showed up in force (about 35 people each) and the insults started flying immediately, the first fist was thrown about 5 min later, and that became a bench clearing brawl within seconds.

When I saw the guy working his way behind the deputy who was trying to separate the combatants reach for the Deputy's holster to try to get his gun, I reacted faster than my capacity for rational thought (terror will do that to you) leaped over the counter I was working behind (which given that I was about 340 lb at the time was no small feat) and essentially "donkey-punched" the guy with his hand on the deputy's gun in the back of the head...just in time to get a full face hit of pepper spray from the other deputy who'd seen the same thing I did and did a panicked "spray and pray" to try to stop the guy...

That shiat really really HURTS

Interested to see how the old man's arrest plays out... and his eventual lawsuit for being sucker punched right in front of deputies, then arrested for defending himself since they didn't stop it until after HE did...

3 unarmed men who want to attack each other and at least 6-7 cops in the scene. I wonder what else they could have done? Oh yeah, not immediately go for the farking taser and physically subdue them. Is hand to hand combat even part of the officer training anymore? Academy Day 1: Here is how to fire a taser ; Day 2: Here are your badges, watch out for negros

Yes, because no one EVER gets hurt seriously by attempting to physically subdue angry, fighting men, and it would be ludicrous to think that they could use an approved, relatively harmless means of subduing them without physical confrontation, especially when, in most cases, combatants actually stop fighting after even being threatened with the relatively and normally harmless device just as in this case. I get your point....well...um...NOT.

Physical restraint is WAY WAY more dangerous than using tasers. For both the suspects and officers. And in that crowded area, for the bystanders as well.

Go educate yourself on the data.

ThatDarkFellow: Show me your data.

Usually I tell people to do their own research, but I am feeling magnanimous today:

The study's most significant
finding is that, while results were not uniform across all agencies, the use of pepper spray and CEDs can significantly reduce injuries to suspects and the use of CEDs can decrease injuries to officers.

There is a lot more info out there proving this. A taser is much safer than a billy club/asp/pr24.

I can give you a document from the tobacco industry that minimizes the dangers of smoking

Also, I don't have a problem with Pepper Spray. I do have a problem with cops sending 50k volts through someones heart because they don't get out of their car.
