Everyone close to the lying, cheating ass banker(s) who pull this shiat always act so surprised afterwards. And yet, when the Occupy people ask for reasonable regulations to prevent exactly this sort of situation from happening, they get called 'commie/socialists' and beat down for their efforts.

If he did go to Venezuela, they would probably laugh at us about extradition. I believe we still have Aponte, and Chavez is going into re-election mode.

He must not be a very good banker. The good ones know how steal without getting into trouble. And you're a lazy socialist if you don't like it.

Well, to be honest, being an "all-inclusive" protest which allows people believing this to be lumped in with people who think GMO crops are killing you for profit, and that the Jews control the world and lied about the holocaust does tend to distract from the seriousness of your message.

The good thing, if he really did steal the $17mil, then he obviously won't report it as income, so he won't be taxed, ergo, he's a job creator! I'll just sit here a wait for those jobs to pop up.

I *am* a conservative. probably one the last ones left. I dunno, call me crazy but...I'd like to know that my bank isn't run by someone who could jack $17 million bucks and then skip town. I'd really like to prevent that from happening. seems like a reasonable sort of thing to have in place, y'know? So banking regulations are kind of important.

Isn't this what the mob is for? We know he owns property in Venuzuela. They have a mob. Isn't this the point when someone kisses the ring and makes some phone calls happen and Price wakes up in a box being delivered between cartels to the American mob where he's promptly introduced to a Mr. Hoffa?

No. That's what we have the CIA's Special Activities Division for.

Unofficially, of course.

Hell, at least this guy had to cover his tracks. What about the Oregon woman who claimed earnings in excess of 3 million dollars (approx 2.97 million than she claimed the previous year) and received a 2.1 million dollar refund, only caught because she reported her spending card lost. And she stole the money directly from the government!

I don't understand why people biatch and moan about the inefficiency of the government, but then do a complete 180 when it suits their argument. A private company run like the government would be bankrupt in a week.

Linux_Yes: if you told Mitt Rmoney about this, he'd ramble on about banking regulation and how it causes these things to happen.

Regulations do help you steal. They define exactly what acts are wrong and what will be checked to see if you are stealing. With intelligence and time, someone will figure out a method to bypass the regulations. The regulations will be changed and the process begins again.

/"causing" it is a different process.

God you are farking simpleminded. What farking regulation is going to prevent any and all fraud? People mock and deride OWS because they display the exact simpleminded stupidity you articulate in your posts.

I just can't believe how many calls of "BRING BACK GLASS-STEAGALL" have been ignored so far, and i fear for how long we have left before they finally do something of the sort. We watch people like Bob Diamond stay in power despite the meltdown of economies, only to be flushed out of his perch now, possibly more than a decade after his crimes had begun being committed/covered up. Just jump.

Naw, I just heard that what we need is tax reduction for the wealthy(to create jobs), less banking regulation(so the bankers can save/serve us) and less government(for less taxes).
Would those not be good things?

Meanwhile, I get to spend 3 freaking days with an auditor poking through my files and asking inane questions about documented receipts because my favorite flyover state finds it suspicious that for a tech company, I sure don't spend a whole lot on computers.

Guess this means I should to abandon my clever scheme to defraud the state out of $5K worth of property tax over a 10-year period, and move on to some serious theft to avoid the spotlight.
