Probably the best Downfall meme is the one where Hitler reacts to losing the epic Rap battle of History against Darth Vader

2012-07-09 12:40:03 PM
Well, I think that ends that meme.

It's like when your mom figures out, and uses, these sorts of things. It's time to move on to something new.

I love the one where they make it seem like he's yelling at his generals about the failed defense of Berlin.

And the video is farked. Great. I kinda wanted to see it too, as I am new to this whole Downfall Meme business. Oh well...

Video blocked by a NewVision copyright claim.

For 3 minutes and 50 seconds of video that's obviously a parody.

Parody, which according to fair use laws, is fine and dandy.

In short

Fark NewVision

A couple of my favorites:

Hitler finds out Obama won the Presidency. It's like all the teabagger rants rolled up in 4 minutes.

And here's one for any Morbid Angel fans. You'll understand if you are.

Thank you for that. I laughed pretty hard

You know, these are completely ineffective if you speak German.

That is so full of win.

I kinda feel bad for Hitler now. Every single thing the guy has ever supported, backed, favored, liked or approved has blown up in his face in spectacular failure. It must be pretty disheartening to be so wrong about so many things so often, and I don't blame him for taking it out on his advisers like that. Surely that guy must be on suicide watch by now.

Cheer up, Hitler. It's not all that bad. One of these days you'll get it right.

Well at least it doesn't have a Macy's float yet.

Also, Fark Google for refusing to have any backbone in supporting Fair Use. Nearly all of these pardoy videos make due note to the original material source, and clearly indicate they are parodies. For all of Google's supposed stand against SOPA/PIPA, Google just takes the "someone made a claim against you, you're deleted" approach with YouTube - I don't see the difference much between those bills and YouTube's current copyright claim policy. They claim to offer the claimant an option to introduce ads on the video for revenue (which is also somewhat specious WRT to Fair Use), but then delete the video if the claimant declines, rather that just referencing US copyright law and clauses on Fair Use (IANAL BTW, but it seems pretty simple regarding parody).

SmackLT: This is how you go meta with it

This also works: a resubtitled interview with the Downfall actor, Bruno Ganz, with subtitles talking about how great the Downfall parody videos are.

I don't care what Bruno Ganz does for the rest of his life. That one scene is enough to enshrine him in the acting hall of fame for life, IMO. It's so farking amazing.

Oh, and the one with Hillary losing Super Tuesday is still my fave.

I think Ric-rolling officially died when Nancy Pelosi did one involving her cats.

How is the movie? Has anyone seen it? Is it any good?

Subby, why did you submit this to FARK? Why didn't you just compose a Downfall parody about it?

I figured it was over when the Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends parade float did it with the real deal.

He was so awesome in "Wings of Desire".

Heh,
I made one of these myself ...to mock an extremely stupid and abusive server administrator in the (now nearly dead) game, Starsiege: Tribes.

And as a police official in "The Baader Meinhoff Complex". It's weird to see him in other roles, but he's pretty good in that flick.

Are there any studios that actually respect fair use? If so, please let me know which ones, so I can buy their (most likely) cheap, crappy movies, just to support them for not being total jackholes.
