PYROY: I'd just like to say I don't give a fark about the olympics and never have.

You have a weird way of showing it.

You sound fat, too.

FarkinHostile: So haw many times have you worked a high security detail?

Me? Lots of times.
One does not simply bike into Mordor, though.

FarkinHostile: And this is why you do what you do, and I do what I do.

because you like to turn everyday situations into violent confrontations? does it make your dick get hard right away or do you save it for later fapping? does it help if it's a 12-year old? are you turned on more if they're helpless or is it something specific to little boys?

FarkinHostile: Austinoftx: Lemme think.... Does protecting Cher on stage count?

Actually, that would count.

So, one.

Though it was more of an honor than a battlefield situation...

Thus what separates the professionals from the amateurs.

Oh, I just meant that I found the task well within my capacity. I didn't go out posturing like a badass, and so noone ended up accidentally thrown up against a rapidly-rotating robotic spotlight.

Lemme think.... Does protecting Cher on stage count? Though it was more of an honor than a battlefield situation...

Jesus, if it had been in the US, they'd have gunned him down or tasered him at the very least, then handcuffed him and pepper sprayed him - in that order

FarkinHostile: ABQGOD: FarkinHostile: Please. That was a perfectly acceptable response to an unknown possible threat to a very high profile client. The kid is fine, the torch bearer is fine, everyone is fine.

None of you jackasses criticizing the security would be able to protect a kitten properly, so keep whining about how rough the treatment was, secure in your ignorance and paperwork pushing jobs and stay out of the way of the professionals.

Maybe we don't have the years of professional security training that you're also pretending to have, but I think I would know enough to not force the kid into the path of an oncoming car.

shiat happens. The car is moving 5mph, not exactly a serious danger, the possibility was talked about and planned on weeks before, and no one got hurt after all, so it worked just fine. Physical Security/body-guarding is an Art, not an exact science, and there is always some jackass pencil pusher wannabe who monday morning quarterbacks AFTER a situation is over and thinks they could have done a better job. Funny, they are always the ones to screw it up colossally when they accidentally find themselves in the thick of the shiat.

You think you can make literally split second decisions, act on them physically and have them work perfectly you need to get away from the keyboard and sign up. Can always use brilliant, perfectly coordinated ninja motherfarkers in the biz.

Do you work hard at being an asshole or does it just come naturally?

The '88 winter games had two sites - Calgary for the indoor events and ski jumping, and Canmore for the Nordic events. After the main torch-lighting ceremony they had a second relay to bring the flame to Canmore, and this was open to members of the public. People lined up along the side of the road and got to hand the torch from person to person (in the crowded areas) or carry it a short distance. Even during the main relay, people were allowed to jog along side the torch bearer and touch the torch as it went by.

"Security bubble"? Go fark yourself.
