It has been asserted by those in the know that Cruise is the second or third highest ranking member of the church. If Miscavige goes down there's a good chance Cruise will be running the whole thing, and as we know from his films, he likes running.

There's various clips of Jason Beghe (actor and ex-$cientologist) around on Youtube talking about his dealings with him...apparently many of the "courses" you have to take (and of course pay for) are constantly being re-worked while at the present time always being sold as "the correct, complete" version of said course, and yet when invariably the "updated" version of a particular course comes out, you're told to pay yet again to take an updated version of something you already paid thousands of dollars for when literally only very minor tweaks are the difference between them.

So they control the college textbook publishing industry too?

If something happens to Miscavige (which is unlikely to happen anytime soon), Cruise will probably take over Co$. But the problem is that Cruise actually believes in this sh*t.

Miscavige doesn't. Given his reputation for frequent outbursts and violent anger, it's clear that DM doesn't practice Scientology. But he gets a pass for it because he's DM.

Cruise taking control of CoS might be the best thing to happen to Scientology. I think Cruise is ultimately a good guy that's been brainwashed by a cult. Miscavige is not a good guy. Hubbard was not a good guy. I think Cruise can bring a sense of heart to Scientology. Make it less evil. Cruise is not himself malicious. He just believes wholeheartedly in Scientology. But with people like Miscavige manipulating him, nothing good will come of it.

When DM's gone, Cruise will either become the new head or bolt completely. Right now, though, DM's got him by the balls...and he's not letting go.
