Zenia Mucha, chief spokesperson for The Walt Disney Co., said the use of Disney characters in the North Korean performance was not authorized by the U.S. entertainment company.

"This was not licensed or authorized by The Walt Disney Company," Mucha told the AP by telephone on Sunday.

It looks like Yoshi to me. And we all know Yoshi is from Mario Brothers series. First introduced in Super Mario World for the SNES.

Precisely EVERYTHING, 'cause it's the Kim, who's lived like a sketched cartoon for so long we don't even recognize him until we're dragged mysteriously into his comic-book fantasy world. Now he's populated it with Disney characters, well known and beloved by Americans, and only the evil Austrian racer with the big wrench is going to menace him, and we all know it represents German military expansionism from the 20th century, but more importantly the German economic expansionism of the 21st century, esp. in light of Greece's (Eyeore) problems and the Sleeping Beauty motifs are clearly the love between Best Korea and South Korea, dormant all these years. And the accordion is a longstanding emblem of Italy (Piglet) so again, references to NATO and an aquatic allegiance (vis-a-vis Black Sea/Indian Ocean/North Pacific rapproachment) - with England represented by the Sea Witch and the ever-delightful mermaid Ariel representing Sri Lanka.

I thought it would have been obvious.

There was some little kid's cartoon on Nickelodeon a few years back, it had young dragons in it... it reminds me of one of those dragons. Could have been meant to be a bad Yoshi knockoff but...

I don't understand why, but I kind of like Kim. Perhaps it's because he seems so harmless in comparison to his father, and "not evil" looking. He might be a ruthless maniac in private, but he seems so....safe? Harmless?

Hopefully I am right and he never finds out people look at him like that. Might flex in an ugly way to make a point.

This reminds me of the scene in Tropic Thunder where Les Grossman (Tom Cruise's best role & performance EVAR) is screaming at what he thinks are rival Hollywood movie industry execs but are actually a small private army of Thai heroin manufacturers. He's using all manner of destructive military metaphors which they think are literal, and they really do have the star of the film (at gunpoint), which Grossman thinks is simply Hollywood business-speak for having signed with that company.

It is pleasing.

When Kim Jong-un was first announced as the next leader, there were rumblings about a military coup since they saw him as too soft(more figuratively than literally). Which would be worse? The heir with something to prove or the military with old ambitions? This is pretty much a damned if you do damned if you don't position.

Yugoslavia had goulash communism and now Best Korea has kimchee communism, more stinky farting but the same number of executions. I bet this fat boy watches that scene in Coming to America and makes his 20 personal body servants recite in unison, "The royal penis is clean!" while he relaxes in the pool underneath the water slide.

well, sure.. you'll see awesome changes, since it won't be possible to enforce copyright in North Korea. It'll be great stuff, all the stuff that is normally blocked from being created due to copyright issues. Re-used footage between genres, crossovers galore, with only the limits of imagination stopping you.

You could have Rambo and Batman team-up to hunt the Predator, while The Thing infects a school of flying piranha that's attacking Jaws as the titanic sinks, and the X-men take-out Team America, along with the blue guys from Avatar who are invading our planet in retribution for American's attacks upon them, with a quick appearance of Super Kim Jong, and his sidekick, Superman, to save everyone at the end.

Garfield and Heathcliff are terrorized by a ghost pirate ship which exists only as a hologram projected by Winnie the Pooh and Snoopy, who would have gotten away with it too, had Hong Kong Fuey and Yogi the bear not hired the Scooby Doo gang. With an appearance by the Genie from Aladdin's lamp, who provides enough scooby snacks to even bring Scrappy Doo into the mix.

This is such a blatant violation of copyright that we should every single MPAA lawyer there to deal with it. RIAA too; there's probably some songs in there.
