Did meat him at an autograph show last year where he signed some of my baaaaaad movies. He was still pretty spry!

"Marty" is a fantastic film, and Borgnine absolutely deserved his Oscar for the role.

CSB: my dad actually met Borgnine (one of my dad's favorite childhood actors) during a layover once in Los Angeles. Borgnine saw my dad in his Navy uniform, asked where he was shipping out to, and sat there for an hour just shooting the breeze with my dad about his days in the Navy before and during WW2.

Man, this week sucks. First Andy Griffith and now Ernest Borgnine? F*ck you Death!

Wow, he was one of those actors whose name I'm familiar with but who I'd assumed had already been dead for decades. Looking at his list of films the only one I've seen was Gattaca. I'll have to check some of the rest out.
