These are my favourite antagonists that Ellen & Patty went up against (in order)
Martin Short (Season 3)
Campbell Scott (Joe, Season 3)
Dylan Baker (Season 4)
Ted Danson (Season 1,2,3)
John Goodman (Season 4)
William Hurt (Season 2)

Never saw Damages. How is it compared to a Breaking Bad/Shield/Sons of Anarchy/Suits?

Doesn't Walking Dead start soon, too. Like tonight?

MagSeven: Never saw Damages. How is it compared to a Breaking Bad/Shield/Sons of Anarchy/Suits?

Just starting Sons of Anarchy season 1. But its awesome so far.

Damages is great. Its not a normal lawyer show.. I'd compare it more to The Shield in that the protagonist will do whatever it takes to get the job done.. also they show clips of the finale throughout the series.. but leave it so vague that you cant guess how you get there

try season 1

I'll check that out based on your recommendation. If I'm recalling correctly, you've got pretty good taste. I'm going to bail on this thread now to avoid spoilers.
Thanks!

I saw a commercial for this and I was thinking, "Odd. I've never heard of this show." Then at the end it said, "On the Audience Network." What the hell is the Audience Network?

Started watching BB on disc a few weeks ago.
1st was good but about 3 episodes into the 2nd it dawned on that the show wasn't a deep or as interesting as I thought,

Just lots of violence in a fairly contrived situation.

I think I got this from watching so many episodes so fast.

Season 2 starts slow, but its starts to pick up and then Season 3 just is mindblowing...

I just read a small teaser article for Breaking Bad. It looks like some critics have already viewed the first two episodes and they are worth the wait.

not sure. Its first 3 seasons were on FX, then it went to some pay per view channel
now I have to buy the episodes to watch on iTunes.. and thats assuming iTunes Canada will keep up to date.. which is usually hit or miss

I remember hearing about it when it first came out like 5 years ago. I thought it had been cancelled. Then again, I watch all my tv on the internet so I never see tv commercials.

It was on FX for three seasons, but, now you basically either have to have DirecTV (the "Audience Network" is their own personal network on DTV), or wait for the season DVDs.

There are, um, easy options for watching this show without having access to DirecTV.

Season one of Damages was always the best season. Why? Because of this man:

Season two was a let-down, but the next two were very good.

1: Why in the fark would I watch the Emmys? I don't work in the industry, and it's just a pretentious advert for the stuff. I didn't help, I don't care, it effects me in no possible remotely concievable way. Just like I don't watch the NBA draft or the inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame.

And I'm glad people have enough time to look up emmy nominations, find pictures, and do other cute shiat but NOT EXPLAIN WHAT THE farkING SHOW IS.

It's a lawyer show, but not focused on the legal shiat ala Perry Mason, that is certainly a part of it though, more of a crazy drama that involves the legalese coincidentally, each season is a new story involving new characters (or ones who recurr)

Damages is like Southland.. in that it is a fantastic drama that has flown way under the radar because of all the other super duper tv shows
some of that might be because the tv channels they are on are hard to get

They're playing it from 2-3 or 1-3 am on AMC if you have a DVR. Or you can get it on amazon, full season (not HD) for $20

Let's see...I say 'I don't care about the Emmys because I'm not in the industry' and you throw out...an industry advertisement! Great logic sparkleboy!

ontariolightning: Why the fark would i explain a show to anyone? im not a prick who spoils tv shows

I know this is stretching your mental power, but bear with me. You can...we'll say discuss...a show, by explaining the core concept of the show. When people ask 'what is this show about' they don't want the spoilers, the details. They want to know the gross information. Start with the category. Is it a drama? A comedy? An edutainment show? A Lifetime original 'men are all rapists' show? Then add some lesser details, such as the setting, the set up, or the premise of the show. Typically you highlight the main characters noticable traits, his motivations, and the premise of the show.

Again, this might be stretching your mental abilities, but people usually ask for details about things in threads because peer review is a much more helpful and meaningful information sharing process than going out and reading the generic boilerplate advertising mulch for the show. It's the difference in going to see Driver because the trailers painted it as a gritty no holds barred action movie, and it turning out the be a tense character drama with very few action scenes and no 'over the top' ones.

Dammit, I'm behind on Breaking Bad. I missed pretty much all of Season 4, as well as all of Season 2 of Walking Dead. Does anyone have any idea where I might find them online to watch? I've done some searches but haven't really turned up anything that works.
