WTF is with Buzzfeed lately? They've been running ridiculous stuff with no particular point, this just being the latest.

This needed a "Hero" tag.

I always kind of figured Buzzfeed as that site that rips off content from other people and presents it as their own, only with labels this time.

Sort of like Funnyjunk or Ebaumsworld.

BuzzFeed is desperate to break some sort of scandal in order to legitimize their political site. They're throwing everything they have against the wall to get something to stick.

In their efforts to be legitimate, they're skating into Onion territory. Even the commenters tore Zeke a new one for this stupid article.

They also want to get into the Drudge/Politico "get clicks to gain influence and use influence to drive the news cycle" market. It means they have to breathlessly report on everything as though it's incredibly important.

Here's a good example. The Obama campaign has been hitting Romney for having Swiss bank accounts and money in the Cayman Islands and whatnot. BuzzFeed comes back with "Obama Also Made Money Overseas, Paid Foreign Taxes" and includes a bunch of tax returns to make it look all journalism-y.

Breitbart is dead. The Daily Mail keeps getting quoted in blogs, so why not get those clickthroughs?

I commented about the Whitehouse response, not buzzfeed.

i'm seriously wondering if buzzfeed is drunk AND high. going after the white house based on which font they use in campaign posters!? c'mon man. only a drunken idiot would think that was newsworthy.

They'd probably get more hits from labeling cats than pushing retarded articles like this one. Prob never click a buzzfeed link again, ever. That was even more stupid than most fark trolls

from the comments on buzzfeed... too true

buzzfeed has always been awful (all their content is stolen from redditt and other sites anyway), but their attempts to be "serious" and "political" have been utterly idiotic.

Did 0bama purposefully send his half martian love child to devour manhattan, or is he so incompetent that he could not prevent it from doing so?

Maybe my conservative mouth-breathing friends will start spouting this lie now instead of writing endless screeds each week about how the Obama campaign slogan "Forward!" is stolen from the Hitler Youth and proves that Obama is a Nazi fascist.

I think the slogan has something to do with having faith that if a business keeps their jobs in America, they'll win big.

There are things the government could do to help with the odds, of course. Tariffs on imported goods, for one.

But for some reason, that's "protectionism," and that's a bad thing. Same reason they stripped the provision from the stimulus saying the cash could only go toward American-made goods and materials.

Years ago, Japan actually subsidized their cars to make them super-cheap to buy in America until they had a foothold and drank our milkshake. But this is 'merca, and we reject the notion that our economy will still be a thing beyond the next quarter.
