1) i can't believe with all the chicks that go on SNL or the kind of talent he could pull from being on SNL's flagship bit, he's dipping on Martha Stewart.

2) i hate how every third alt comedian's act is now basically just shouting "really? Really? Really? really. Really?"

Sorry, for some reason I searched for "Mike Myers" instead of "Seth Myers".... I see the National Enquirer mentioned articles about this now.... guess we'll see if it is legit.

it's legit. i don't know if today they're together, but about a year ago it was legit.

myers was on Bill Simmons ESPN podcast at about that time and I was pissing myself hoping Simmo would ask him, "seth, come on man, for real? Martha stewart?" but he didn't ask.

Either way, Meyer's will be back on the stool next to Kelly this week.

Here's a clip of Seth Meyer's interviewing Zac Efron on "Live! With Kelly":

Quality grammar there.

Why, without the one person that made it relevant for almost thirty years, does anyone still care about that show? It's just a stupid daytime celebrity talk show that no one with a job or brain should give a fark about.

So nothing's changed, is what you're saying. Philbin . . . how he ever made a career in broadcasting is beyond me. The only people I knew who watched the show treated it as a sideshow.

Meyers can't help but be an improvement, but there's still not much to the show.

Yeah, really.

I was gonna say, hey would YOU turn down a steady and hefty paycheck that lets you live in the city you love and leaves you time for your family?

Really? I mean, REALLY?

Since when were entertainers required to be fair and balanced? Change the channel if you can't stand to see conservative values mocked. Or better yet, you could douche out your sand-laden quim.

After Mike Wallace died some site had clips from his interview show in the '50s and one was with Oscar Hammerstein.

50 (50!) years ago HAMMERSTEIN talked about the 'arts' being filled with liberals and 'progressives' as well as the newspapers and said he knew because he was a 'progressive'.

He also said something along the lines that it was an artist's duty to be liberal, which is nonsense.

Dear comedy,

"Really?" isn't a punch line. It's a response that tells me that you've written yourself into a corner, and aren't clever enough to write something funny. Yes, really.

For some reason I read the headline as "Seth Green" instead of "Seth Meyers". It was a "WTF?" moment.

Shut the fark up, Dennis. You had your time on the update desk and an HBO show. Not our fault 9/11 made you soil your tighty brownies and you started churning out hackneyed right wing crap instead of actual jokes.

What's funny is Fred Armisen did a character on Weekend Update and parodied unfunny news and political commentators who don't have punch lines - probably sitting right next to Meyers and Poehler.
snl.jt.org

I can take or leave Armisen, but that was one of his better "small doses" characters.

I don't know this kind of makes sense to me. After reading the Live from New York book, working on SNL sounds like a super grind. I can totally see it being the kind of thing that is not so hard to do when you are younger, but when you start to get older, the crazy weeks where you barely leave your office, and don't get to see your family is probably super draining. It is probably especially hard for someone like Seth who is the head writer and probably has to be there all the time. By comparison a job like live where you work for a couple of hours a day in the morning, chat about bullcrap with Kelly Ripa for a bit and then ask celebrities pre-approved questions, and then have the rest of the day to yourself sounds pretty easy. Especially since I read somewhere that if he takes the job he would step down as SNL head writer but keep the Weekend Update Job. To me that doesn't sound too bad.
