Believe me, most of California would be overjoyed to get rid of the SF bay area and all of coastal SoCal. Those two bastions of libtards do their best to screw it up for the rest of us.

Agree. Now if everything to the left of the San Andreas Fault would simply fall into the ocean, California would pretty much be fixed and we would get a pretty good SyFy movie out of it. What I like to call a Win Win situation.

Yeah, but I have a real soft spot for the Central Coast. I'm happy to save everything between Big Sur and say, Ventura.

Most of California's population lives in the areas you just referenced. They probably have similar feelings for your geographical portion of California. Or maybe they don't.

Yreka bakery is a palindrome.

Also, the State of Jefferson wouldn't include the bay area or Sacramento. They want(ed) to secede because the people there feel ignored by those in the state Capitols (Sac and Salem).

It's an interesting bit of local history (i'm not from there but attended Southern Oregon U). Also, Yreka sucks, keep driving a bit and visit Ashland. Awesome little town.

Been driving past the big STATE OF JEFFERSON barn next to I-5 for years driving between Seattle and LA. They do have some cool metal sculptures next to the road up there.

Between the secession signs up there and the miles of Anti-Pelosi propaganda plastered next to the highway in the central valley it is very easy to forget what a solid blue state California is.

Tsk, tsk. The Central Valley couldn't survive without coastal consumers to buy their produce. And the coastal cities couldn't survive without the obese, sweaty hordes of Central Valley tourists descending on Pier 39 to visit Hooters and the Ripley's Believe It or Not museum.

Away from the coast, California is festering stew of meth and resentment towards minorities and educated "elites". It's like a thousand-mile long trailer park.

Definitely agree about Ashland, Oregon. All it takes is one bad storm going through the pass at the CA border to show you the importance of getting through those mountains and into the welcoming arms of Ashland. Great food, great town and great people.

Central Valley's pollution is homegrown.

Because it's, you know, a valley, the mountains keep the coastal air out and trap the local industrial and agrictultural pollution.

The Atlantic - Sep 28, 2011 - Why Does California's Central Valley Have Such Bad Air Pollution?

/ Did someone write something earlier about inland California being filled with un-educated red-staters seething with resentment about the outside civilized world?

Then you would have to change the name to the State to Welfare! The Coastal Cites are the economic engines of the State with Bakersfield being the exception due to it's oil. The rest of California is dominated by Agriculture, Forestry and Tourism. Look at the WELFARE Statistic from the Central Valley; Kern, Kings, Fresno, Tulare etc. all receive more in tax dollars from the State than they pay, they have the highest percentage of Welfare recipients and the highest percentage of Sex offenders whose crime involve Children Under 14, lets not forget they also have the highest percentage of Drug, Spousal and Child abuse in the State. Then add in the lack of Education -lowest H.S. Grad rates, lowest percentage of College degrees- and you have an area that makes the backwoods of Appalachia look positively upscale and sophisticated.

As for the SyFy Movie, yes your dream State would make a good one since with all the inbreeding they would not even need a script or makeup to film it!

Cali isn't broke. We run a (painfully) balanced budget, unlike Texas, which is running a $25 billion a year deficit. When that reality comes home to roost you guys are going to going to be up shiat-creek without a paddle. Enjoy life before the credit card bill comes due. ;)

40 billion and control of the aqueducts would suit just fine. All the Fontucky and Hemet okies moving north would complicate matters.
