Oh, Gods dammit. I'm in the middle of book 4 and I want to throw the farking thing out the window and rage. I also want to angry-makeup-sex fark Cersei. Seriously. She pisses me right the fark off and I need her.

Well, Lena, anyway. Hi love. You do the role well and you rock at it. Have a good weekend. You're so gorgeously awesome.

Oh, and never mind the haters, I still dig the Chronicles.

Don't worry Spad, that rage will subside after the book and in the intervening 10 years it takes for book 5 to come out.

Wait...I have book five...Dance with Dragons...is there a book six? Should I preemptively get all internet-enraged now? DAMMIT! THIS IS WHY I CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS!

Oh, I so want to do bad, bad things to Cersei.

There are supposed to be 2 more books after Dances. If Martin lives that long.

BTW, if you're hating book 4, you'll despise Dances even more. 4 & 5 were supposed to be one book but Martin split them to go into more detail about Dorne.

Truding through 4 as well. Soo much of it, I could give a shiat less about, but I guess after the awesomeness of 3, most anything would be a letdown and he has to build into new story lines somewhere I guess.

Anyone else just sick and tired of people adding Star Wars to things that don't need it? It just seems a lazy way to get internet fame now instead of doing something genuinely cool and original.

Nope sorry, even with lightsabers GoT is still as boring as it ever was. Its a generic drama about generic royalty, with some pretty VFX and naked tits thrown in to make it seem more substantial than it really is.

I was pretty disappointed in books four and five. I know how Martin had to scrap plans for a five year gap and all that, but after books one through three, Martin basically treads water through four and five. Plots move forward, but I'm hard-pressed to think of anything really important that happened, except for (incredibly minor spoilers) one guy nobody cares about turning into a human S'more. Plus, ending on a cliffhanger is okay for a special two-part episode of Growing Pains, but it's just off-putting when done in a novel that's not getting a sequel for two or three or seven years.

And nobody farking cares where whores go.

see my post right above yours. I'm annoyed mostly because it comes off less as an homage and more like Christian [Music Genre]. There's no real love for the former pop culture reference, it's just bullshiat "hey, remember me? I'm still relevant!" pleading.

He's stated he has no idea how to end the series. Which makes me stabby. Hopefully HBO will pull forward quickly and get through book 3 by the end of next season, so Georgie has to get his shiat together. Make a damn choice, move forward! Even by "killing" a few of the characters I actually care about, the plot STILL hasn't advanced! For fark's sake!!!

No he knows exactly how the series ends. He isn't positive how it gets from A - Z but he knows what Z is.

It will probably be a while before HBO catches up:
Season 3 - First half of book 3
Season 4 - Second half of book 3
Seasons 5/6/7(?) - Probably a combination of books 4 and 5 so characters aren't missing for an entire season at a time

I will be amazed if HBO manages to properly finish the series. By the time the final books are accounted for, it will probably require 8-10 seasons. That's a hell of a commitment for a series that's as expensive to produce as this. Best case, the final season or so is condensed to the pace of Season 4 of Babylon 5 just for the sake of finishing the story.

Nope. Book 3 has been split in to 2 seasons. Giving george more time to not finish his books.

Which is a shame cause I dont want to read the books till the TV show catches up. Im prepared to wait.

So after reading these comments, is it cool to hate Thrones now?

Those FX were crap. Lightsabers are one of the easiest effects to do and it isn't hard to do them right, just time consuming.

Game of Thrones already has swords-on-fire in the form of wildfire. No matter what you do to it it will always burn. You could chuck into into deep spa- Ok maybe not, but we don't need no stinkin' scifi-fantasy glowsticks in Westeros.

I did something similar to this about five years ago. But it was the sword fight between Westley and Inigo from "The Princess Bride." Had it up on Youtube, but my account got shut down for "Copyright violations..." Lame. I'd repost it, but the HDD I had failed and I lost the files.

To be fair, Martin put zombies in it back in '96. So he was actually ahead of the curve by a bit.

Thoros of Myr used wildfire on swords in the first few books during tourneys (stated by characters, not actually in a scene). All other occurrences of flaming swords happened in boring, unimportant plotlines no one gives a shiat about. And in books 4 and 5, but I repeat myself.

I dont get the hate with books 4 and 5.

Its natural they slow down.

At the end of the 3rd book, so freakin much has happened, its only natural theres going to be some solidification of the lines, some repositioning, some collective catching of breath. Admittedly, cersei's story in book 4 does go on a bit, but... maybe it just didn't bother me, maybe because part of why I like these books is just getting lost in them, but not everything has to end for me with a death star destroying big battle or something.

And besides, the Build up books 4 and 5 go thru are so epic. The Dorne subplot was really, to me, the only one that didn't make much sense. Everything else has, or could potentiall have, a good important role to play moving fwd.

By the end of book 6, there is SO MUCH on the knife's edge. Victarion's fleet. Jon Snow. Stannis. Siege of Meereen and Dany's refocusing.

Book 7 is going to be huge.

And we will see a lot Boltons and Freys die screaming.

wow, you are right... I forgot that thoros of Myr before the Dragons were born, had really no powers and was mostly doing everything for show. Now I'm not even sure if after the Dragons were born the swords are finally powered by something other than wildfire.

The only book I struggled to read a was A Feast for Crows. It was somewhat slow and boring. A dance with dragons tho, I'm re-reading it right now.

I also didn't like A Feast for Crows but it had some good points. Twos points for me were;

- We learn what happens to the hound and hopefully he has some measure of peace before he is thrust into conflict again.

- I started to like Jamie Lannister as a character.
