I've made it a bit of a habit to travel around the state a little bit recently and check out some of the historical societies. A lot of them do a really good job with up-keeping historical houses and converting them to museums. The one I went to yesterday, in Clermont, has a split focus on how life was for those who lived in Florida before the citrus boom, and life for those after, when money started coming into the state.

I know I can be sentimental because it's my home state, but Florida really has one of the more interesting state histories around, I think.
