Considering that you are posting on Fark instead of rioting for bread and selling pencils while wearing a pickle barrel for clothes, I'd say he's far more right than wrong.

The Obama campaign should buy that 14 seconds and air it on national teevee. A lot.

Serious question for conservatives:

Do you actually think conservatism can survive a Romney presidency? The Washington GOP inside liberal elites hand picked Romney because he best represents their values. Notice how widely those values diverge from yours, or real conservatives like Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, and Michelle Bachmann. Yet the Washington liberals plonked Romney down in front of you, and said "you must vote for this guy just because we say so."

Now, if you go the polls and vote for him in the general election, you're effectively saying to the Washington GOP inside liberal elites "we'll vote for whatever liberal you plonk down in front of us and tell us we have to vote for." In light of that, do you think the Washington GOP inside liberal elites will ever run a real conservative again? A Romney win this fall is just about the worst thing that could possibly happen to conservatism. Really, it's in your interests to make sure the Washington GOP inside liberal elites know who really runs the party. The best way to convey that is to stay home, or write in a real conservative's name.

Obama's been hamstrung by a hostile Congress for most of his tenure. He should have benefitted early on from his Democrat Congress, but they failed to do anything. Then he failed to use his mandate and popularity to drive forward his "hope and change" policies and drive the reactionary Tea Party out of government. Then he signed the health care bill which is a terrible compromise which makes insurance companies richer and Americans no better off.

Considering the circumstances, I'd say he's doing a below average job.

Not that I think Romney would be any better.

"The problem Americans face today is that many cannot afford pickle barrels. Once my administration takes office, I will look at the economic ramifications of subsidization of the pickle barrel industry, coupled with strategic tax cuts to the pickle barrel creators, and work with Congress to create appropriate legislation allowing Americans to obtain the pickle barrels they are at this time sorely lacking."

What? You think conservatives, or I should say Republicans, actually THINK?

When they think, they become hubiestubert or Weaver, and god knows the GOP could never survive that.

The bigger question, is can the USA survive another 4 years of Obama?

There's no real difference between Obama and Romney on the issues. For example, both believe RomneyCare was the correct model for national health care reform. Yeah, I know Mittens is saying now he'll repeal it. But one thing you can count on with Mitt: his position will change with the polls. He'll be in favor of RombamaCare again once its more popular provisions start going into effect. In fact, he'll try to take care of it. So if you don't think America can't survive under Obama, you've no reason to believe it can survive under Romney either.

The whole dynamic is put the gimp back in his box. Now it looks like the GOP's candidates will be one non-'Christian' and one non-white, non male individual so they've done that.

Winning in November was always secondary to that.

pffft, that's nothing. Earlier today an otherwise-intelligent friend of mine was blaming Obama for a very silly amendment that got tacked on to the Transportation Bill. Yep, an amendment drafted by Big Tobacco; attached by one Senator; allowed through the House, the Senate, and the reconciliation committee; and it's Obama's fault because he didn't veto the entire frigging Transportation Bill over it.

This is the kind of stupidity that passes for political argument among Republicans these days.

ObamneyCare puts the emphasis in the wrong place. Romney is really the one who built it first in Massachusetts, then successfully argued for its implementation nationally. Romney's name should properly be right out in front. "RombamaCare" is just fairer, and more balanced.
