They then took canoes right into Singapore Harbor, where they blew up seven Japanese ships before escaping.

Definitely in contention with the Italian frogmen in Alexandria. The Australians get points for the bolder approach, but the Italians deserve credit for coolness under pressure as they were captured and held prisoner on the battleship they had just mined. (WIkipedia)

It's not all fun and games, you know. When you're not walking around playing the part, there are decks that need cleaning. And when the enemy surfaces, you need to be prepared to blow those seamen out of the water.

It could be worse...

In defense of the cross-dressing British Navy, those U-boats were probably getting suspicious when their comrades kept disappearing on missions.
A passenger ship without people walking the deck would certainly make one go for the torpedo option sooner than trying to capture it.

I don't think they surfaced for a capture. If I remember correctly, there was something in the rules of engagement that required the subs to surface before attacking non-military ships. To lazy to research/link.

Which makes it a good deal for the guy on the left.
For the bunny... not so much.

Don't be ridiculous. You can't scrub a deck with a feather duster. You'll be assigned to the bunks.
