I'm going for Tibau. It's easier to spell.

Earguy: I have to wonder...if they charged $27.50 instead of $55 for the PPV, do you think they'd get twice as many buys?

I think they'd see an increase but I don't necessarily think the buys would double. Aren't the UFC PPV's in line with the boxing PPV's, but with more fights? (Haven't bought a boxing PPV in 20 years)

I picked the Rusky but if this kid keeps leading with his chin Tibau is gonna clock him.

Mrs. Earguy's stomach turned when she saw all the blood on the floor. Should they change the primary color to black?

Pac and Floyd sell marginally more, but UFC is FAR more frequent.

Boxing PPV has to be a dying entity. Too many really crappy main events in the past couple of years. Whether it's a boring jabfest going to the scorecards, a sacrificial-lamb exhibition, or a ridiculously corrupt judges' decision, consumer satisfaction with boxing PPV is way down.

Interesting that the fight is not yet over but the Tapology pics indicate Phillippou has already won.

Oh... as far as cost. Pac and Floyd average $60, UFC $50 for reg def, $55-60 for hi def. Some markets a tiny bit different.

No, what I meant was, aren't they about the same price, but UFC provides many more fights for the price?

No, that would be Silva and St Pierre/Jones.

The hype on this fight is Silva has clowned every fighter he's faced for 7 years except for Sonnen, who was tooling him for 4.5 rounds before he got submitted about a minute before the end of the fight.

Pretty sure Pac/Bradley did over a mil. Of course, that leads into your point. Floyd will always sell a mil, Pac/Floyd would be the first fight to ever do 2. Tonight's fight will probably do right at a mil, and that's huge for UFC. Boxing's problem is that they only have 2 draws that fight 3 times/year combined, and nobody after them to pick up the slack after those 2 retire (real soon).

/don't say Alvarez, he gets hit too often

Full credit for Silvas winning streak, but his competition at 185 was underwhelming for most of it and his two opponents at 205 were hand picked stylistic match-ups.

Boxing puts on a lot of spanish network broadcasts for like $20 with Mexican names like Barrera and Cesar Chaves Junior, too. All UFC cards same price, more card depth throughout.

Yeah, he needs to work on a lot if he wants to make it in the UFC.

He's a little guy, too, even for a 155'er.

WTF. All 3 judges score it 30-27?
