This is the stupidest study I have ever seen.

Guess what? If you're unusually attractive or unusually unattractive, it will be referenced in the media more frequently than if you're an average Joe. I bet the Wisconsin study would also find that, if and when Christie runs for the Republican Nomination, that his weight will be mentioned more than Ron Paul's.

Not to mention, Palin was one of the few woman VP candidates, and (mainly) was always good for some kind of ridiculous gaffe. This study seems like busy work.

I think Palin's problems began when she opened her mouth in front of cameras and revealed how farking stupid she is.

Well, they were treated differently.

Joe's gaffes tended to be speaking the truth. Palin's gaffes tended to be showing her abundance of ignorance about the nation that she wanted to represent. After a while, folks figured that one out...

Yeah, Joe's main problem is being too blunt. The man has a biatchin' Trans-Am, though.

Yes. I'm sure if people were only nicer to poor, maligned Sarah Palin, she'd be infinitely more brilliant and coherent.

Sarah Palin and Joe Biden are different.

2012-07-07 12:51:55 PM
In that coverage, the authors found evidence of gender stereotypes, with stories mentioning her family, physical appearance and positions on social issues

Because those are the only things she put forward.

However, on issues that might be considered "women's issues," such as health care or education, Biden received more coverage.

Because he actually gives a shiat about them.

And if you want to complain about grotesque misogyny in political forums, go give Janet Reno, Chelsea, and Hillary a call and see if they give a shiat about Palin.

Look at how well that worked. Feeling duped? McCain is still kicking and Biden is only a heart attack away. This is why evangelicals pray for Obama's health.

Coverage of Palin was more likely to include references to her family, physical appearance and social issues, particularly in newspapers and by political blogs, while coverage of Biden dealt more with foreign policy and the economy.

So they were doing her a huge favor then.

Biden is someone who usually stands around and says something that catches people's attention so the spotlight goes on him for that.

Palin wants to marry the farking spotlight while crying about how hot that spotlight is.

And you hating Biden is a pretty good indicator that he's worthy of the Presidency. Because, like most modern Republicans, what YOU want is almost always the exact opposite of what's good for the country.

Your baffling insight into the prayer habits of evangelicals notwithstanding, Phil Herup, I'm not feeling duped at all, Phil Herup.

You see, Phil Herup, had McCain won, we'd still be at war in Iraq and Afghanistan, but we'd also be tangled up with wars in Iran, Syria, Georgia, Yemen, the other Georgia, Baltimore, and the Cracker Barrell on I-10 that refused to give McCain extra biscuits.

So, go back to your Internet Dentistry practice, Phil Herup, and kindly STFU.

Summoner101: Protip: Being the President is far more stressful than being a senator from Arizona that many people have learned to ignore

Being President ages a person greatly. Just look at even Clinton, who pretty much just had a good time, by comparison to the others. McCain would be long dead by now and we would be in a Mad Max wasteland 30 minutes into Palin's Presidency.

Maybe that's what the Mayans really predicted, that Palin would be President by now and boom. They only missed by a few States' votes. Not bad

Hah yeah, why the hell didn't the media cover Palin's foreign policy and economy experience, opinions and policy positions? I also cannot figure that one out. Thanks, study.

And can someone explain to me how a pregnant teenage daughter is relevant during policy discussions about abstinence only? Why didn't anyone talk about Joe Biden's daughter? What, because she was killed in a car crash 40 years ago as a 1 year old with Biden's wife, suddenly his family is off limits? Ridiculous double standards I say.

This is true. I would have rather seen a more moderate GOP VEEP pick, like Snowe. There's a very high chance that the election would have been very different.

That's one other thing. Had McCain won, we would still be in Iraq, and by his own words we would also be in Syria and Iran. So even in a republican's most blind partisan thoughts they have to admit that McCain not being elected saved thousands of lives. That's not something you can even argue.

If the regressives think Palin is sooooo awesome I can't wait to see her get the VP nomination again. I mean if she's so great then certainly she's the obvious and only choice this time too right?

I'll bet that doesn't even come close to happening. The GOP has already neuralized the base so that most of them have forgotten that Palin is sitting out there waiting for god to miracle her ass into the White House.

I wish to god they would shove her out there for Veep again though. God the derp would be beautiful!

Once again, Sarah Palin is not stupid. You don't make it to governorship of a state on your own merits (as opposed to having it handed to you because of who your daddy is) by being stupid. What Sarah Palin is, is willfully ignorant. She's determined what plays well in Peoria and book larnin', considered opinions and thoughtful analysis of the issues do not impress her potential constituents; therefore, she does not bother with those things and, in fact, actively scorns them. If the people of Alaska had wanted a governor who read the New York Times, she would be an avid reader of the New York Times. If she were running for Senate in Massachusetts, she'd make Elizabeth Warren look like Elizabeth Dole.

Sarah Palin is not dumb, she knows exactly what she's doing, and she undoubtedly has a list of enemies who are going to be utterly destroyed one way or another once she gets back in power. Let's keep her on Fox reality TV shows where we can keep an eye on her, not in the White House, mmkay?

Biden was a known quantity. Palin was a complete surprise. Also , Biden never posed for a magazine in running shorts.

I gotta say, an Onion article about Palin washing her Trans Am would be more believeable... As long as it had a primered quarter panel, and was on blocks.
