I'll go with awesome, too. I'm sure it takes a while to apply the prosthetics and makeup.

How about Hellboy/Spawn crossover, with a Ghost Rider cameo.

Words do no justice to the awesomeness that this was.

Awesome actor and an awesome guy.

Saw him in Drive the other day. The second he showed up I knew it was going to be an entertaining film.

Awesomeness wrapped in holy wafers mixed with garlic.

2012-07-06 11:01:08 PM
To be fair, he doesn't need much makeup to dress up as Hellboy...

2012-07-06 11:42:12 PM
Man, look at that past-his-prime egomaniac vamping for publicity by actually no, I can't pretend to troll something this awesome.

How about a Hellboy/Sons of Anarchy crossover?

Nahhhhhh...

Awesome of Perlman to do that. Clay Morrow DOES have a heart.

Awesome. Awesome never changes.

Perhaps the Sappy tag would have fit better, perhaps not.

Well done, Ron.

Ron Perlman is one of those guys that makes stuff better just by being in it.

This, though? Freaking sweet.

2012-07-07 05:13:49 AM
You gotta respect a guy like that. Putting on that makeup takes hours & hours. You've gotta think a good portion of his body is covered in either paint or prosthetics. For him to sit there and have all that done to go visit a sick kid well it's even more than just awesome.

Yes I'm a girl & I own the Hellboy dvds. I'm even prouder of owning them today. You go Ron Pearlman!

His badassery must have rubbed off on Gosling's car. Not even a broken headlight?

I think mr Perlman would never need lack a beer in his hand if there are farkers around

Ron Perlman is much older than I realized. (I already knew he was awesome)

2012-07-07 07:46:27 AM
Yeah, that was very awesome.

I think in on interview for the 1st Hellboy, he says it takes anywhere from 6 to 8 hours to put the makeup on.

Which is probably why he didn't want to do a 3rd movie. Granted, he seems to wear heavy makeup on most of his movies, but the Hellboy stuff seemed to bother him.

I love stories like this. When celebrities do something like this (when they clearly don't have to), I feel better about the world.

This can not be over-stated: That was awesome.

You don't have to qualify shiat about being female and liking stuff. Hellboy, when I worked in the comic shop, was one of my go-to titles for anyone of either gender that wanted to try out comics but were worried about the kiddie-history side of the medium. I got my husband into 'em, too. They're great for anyone with a wonk towards the mythological or the pulp-horror.

Also, Ron Perlman is one of Hollywood's gentlemen; he's been a bro for decades in the business. He took an enormous paycut to work in Guillermo del Toro's 'Cronos', which helped get the film finished. That was the early part of their friendship and why Perlman has a 90% of showing up in anything del Toro does.

I hope the little fella makes it

Would that also be a Game of Thrones crossover as well, it was written by GRRM

Dammit, Perlman, you just sent my allergies into overdrive.

2012-07-07 09:26:12 AM
Him knowing what that kid has faced made sitting in a make-up chair for hours seem like nothing. Salute, Ron!

2012-07-07 09:35:28 AM
Has anyone mentioned how awesome that was?

2012-07-07 09:38:05 AM
Wow, such appreciation for Ron Perlman in here when I was just ranting with a friend about how he seemed like one of Hollywood's unsung heroes. The man works hard and I am happy that many of you can appreciate him and what he does. He is in fact a class act and not one of these tools that needs to get over himself.

Glad to see him do this and show the world just how big of a heart he has.

2012-07-07 09:38:29 AM
That is beyond awesome.

I smiled ear-to-ear reading that entire article.

This made want to look at YouTube for old clips of this show but instead I found out that the CW is doing a farked-up Twilight-inspired remake were Vincent isn't ugly but looks kind of like Wolverine.

For all you Pearlman fans out there, check out City Of lost Children if you haven't already,...

fark CW so much for that shiat. If they have to farking remake the show at least, make it closer to the original. I hope it gets canceled.

/Loves Ron Perlman

They can send me Selma Blair, just for no reason whatsoever. C'mon baby light my fire.

Good for you, Perlman.

FinFangFark: Yeah, that was very awesome.

Looks here they just did the face and a bit of upper chest sticking out from his costume. Still, even that is a 3-4 hour job.

Perlman has gone on record that a very, very good script and good budget will need to be brought in to sit in the makeup chair again for #3, as he absolutely detests it, especially at his age he said. That he'd do this free of charge for a kid with cancer is pretty fraking awesome of the guy.

2012-07-07 11:53:01 AM
Ron Perlman will always be in my cool book since he's always done the voiceovers for the Fallout games.

2012-07-07 12:46:25 PM
I gotta respect him for that since hes stated how much he hates putting on that costume. According to a quote from him, it takes 8 hours to get the makeup right.

2012-07-07 12:48:33 PM
Well done, Mr. Perlman. :D
