Sure, bring someone from the Bush administration, that's a great idea! We can just talk and talk about the Bush administration and what they did to this country. It'll be fun, and I'm sure it'll be great for your campaign.

Nothing like validating the incredibly successfully foreign policies decisions of the Bush Administration.

Every time I become annoyed with politics, Rmoney alludes that he's going to do something awesomely bad and I get excited again.

Wow. The quote from Ann Romney was "We've been looking at [choosing a woman]. And I'd love that option as well," Ann Romney said. "There are a lot of people that Mitt is considering right now."

And from that, the article, and subby, gets "Romeny camp drops a hint about Condaleeza Rice." That's a masssssssiiiiiiiivvveee stretch.

2012-07-06 11:22:19 AM
No better way to shore up Romney's tepid support in the southern, evangelical segment of the GOP than to pick a black lesbian woman as his running mate....

Martinez would be a smart choice.

The problem is that she might be too smart to accept an offer...

Strong hint? The entire source for this theory is someone asking Ann Romney if her husband would pick a woman for his VP, and Ann responding that they are "looking into that" and that she'd "love it". You could use the same quote to suggest he's going to pick Ellen Degeneres.

Romney camp drops a hint about Condoleezza Rice

Ann Romney was asked by CBS correspondent Jan Crawford if her husband should consider a woman as a running mate.

"We've been looking at that. And I'd love that option as well," Ann Romney said. "There are a lot of people that Mitt is considering right now."

If the Romney camp is evaluating women as vice presidential candidates, Rice could certainly be on that list.

You guys suck at Telephone.

Don't scare me like that, Subby. For a second I thought you were talking about another Palin run.

Ahh, yes, a specialist on Cold War Soviet politics who couldn't be arsed to read intelligence memos about terrorist activities directed at the United States. What a great choice.

From the party that brought you the ideal that 'the best person for the job should get the job, not base it on race or gender'. Because pandering is so problema5tic with the left. The right would never do that! They just harped about it when the President made his statement on young aliens, but this is different I'm sure. "Look women, we don't hate you! We're totally looking into a female VP because despite all contrary evidence that we feel you should STFU and make a sammich, we actually believe you count!"

Because we should pick politicians based on the boner they give us. Gotcha.

Rice has considerable national and international experience as President George W. Bush's Secretary of State.

Her foreign policy skills could also be useful as Syria lurks as a possible campaign issue for Romney and President Barack Obama.

This is why we can't have nice things. Why would the author casually suggest that Condi Rice's foreign policy experience would be a positive without educating the reader on why it would probably be exactly the opposite?

2012-07-06 12:13:58 PM
And I didn't think there was a way he could make Obama look any strong on foreign policy...

2012-07-06 12:15:07 PM
One might say a pick like that would be a game changer.

The sign makes a good point. Unless a broad is hot, then there's no reason to listen to anything she says. Go with that.

It would be hilarious if Rmoney couldn't get anyone with any qualifications at all to join him and had to just pick some random crayon-eating mouth-breather from the Republican base.

I can imagine the bumper stickers:

Romney/winterwhile 2012!!!1! Best part... forever!

Anyone know how Condi turned down the offer? Did she say the magic words, "If nominated I will not run; if elected I will not serve" ? If not then we have to expect that she might have a "change of heart" or "I must do what is best for my country" This might be a floater to see how the conservative wig-wags react.

Well, in her defense, Ms. Rice is a really good piano player. Practically concert level. So there's that.

Since you left out Scarlett Johansson for Obama as well as Mila Kunis your chart is a little off.
