Oh come the fark on, really? I could see the hygiene issue if she doesn't wash regularly but if a woman showers and washes everything properly on a daily basis plus after exercise, the hair doesn't pose any kind of hygiene issue, nor is there usually a smell issue.

I started shaving my legs at 13, after some rather brutal teasing on the part of my classmates. No, it didn't occur to me that because I wasn't male I was 'supposed' to not have leg hair; I'd figured once it came in that it was as much of a personal preference as, say, having bangs or not, and given that many who were teasing me were hairier than I was (the male contingent, but I didn't notice that back then), I was genuinely baffled.

Damn, was I relieved when my second boyfriend (we met as college freshmen; we're still together over a decade on) said he didn't care one way or the other, so I stopped. No complaints from my secondary partner, either, over the last seven years. And for the record, my pits were much more prone to overcome deodorant when shorn, which I hypothesise is due to the fact that the pitmuffs weren't there to wick away the sweat and keep the pits from getting swampy. But I've also heard that others have had the opposite experience, so... to each one's own, really. Shorn, natural, trimmed, whatever works for the one sporting it.
