Wasn't Treat Me Like A Robot a big hit for Devo in '82?

Sorry Kate. You knew he was a psycho cultist going in. Now that he's apparently not helping your career, you're all indignant. I don't buy it and you shouldn't be selling it.

Bearding for a rich actor is good work if you can get it. It provides lots of money, acting opportunity, and publicity.

I guess she realized she would rather be married to a straight sane person.

I would bite her shiny metal ass.

Wow.

Famous, rich, white, Scientolic, so-so actor marital problems.

And seriously, she didn't know what a farking whack-job she was getting involved with?

She's about as smart as she looks.

Young women who marry guys that remind them of their father often grow out of their husband acting like their father? Who knew? I couldn't have been the only one who truly believed that despite the already added pressure of celebrity and scientology that this romance would buck the incredibly high odds that the age difference would kill it. Scant few people in the history of ever have been able to pull off big age difference relationships, but Tom and Katie seemed like they had all they needed to do it!

Give her a break. She was 8 when Top Gun came out it was probably her childhood dream to marry Maverick. It sounds like it wasn't until he started pushing their kid into Scientology that she wanted out.

This.

Prior to Katie Holmes, Tom Cruise met up with Scarlett Johannson under the guise of auditioning her for Mission Impossible 3. She caught on realy quickly that he was trying to recruit her to be his Stepford wife. The warning signs were there for Katie. But for whatever reason, she dove in anyway.

And it's not like he did her career any favors. I bet he's the reason she wasn't in TDK and I HATE it when they switch actors in the sequel. Strange that she didn't get a 2 picture deal when everyone else signed on for 3 right away....

Take away the "fact" that this was a sham marriage and your left with a woman
who wants to get out of a farked up relationship, probably because she's worried about her kid. I'm no "Free Katie" idiot, but what's with the scorn you heap upon her? You guys are way too quick to jump on & attack this chick. I think that she is saying anything in the face of all the potential CoS consequences is pretty farking courageous. Oh yeah, and she's not wearing a mask or hiding behind 7 proxys while doing it.

Here's my problem with the TMZ story.

A crux of the story is while Batman Begins was filming, Tom was controlling her travel.

Problem with that: Begins was filming through 2004. The movie was wrapped by the time Tom and her started dating, The only thing the cast would have done together after the movie was done was press and promotion, and they rarely travel together for that.

For people who like to claim that the marriage is a "sham", did you ever stop and think that Cruise may just be bisexual? I don't even care if he's gay or not, it's the same thing with Travolta. People think it's either black or white and in a lot of cases, it's NOT.

I fully admit that Cruise is weird, socially awkward, and involved with a cult religion. But that doesn't make him gay.

Because Katie went on record back in Dawson Creek days that she harbored a GIGANTIC crush on Cruise.

I guess some people aren't as "clued in" as everyone on the internet.
Also, come to think of it, like a lot of Hollywood folks she probably had people
telling her it was for the best. Maybe she is not that smart. Just look at the number of people whose lives have been ruined (Hollywood style) by people telling them what to do.
All I am saying is that to say "she had it coming" isn't really fair without
knowing all the details. I really hope she nails Tom to the farking wall about Scientology & other creepy stuff in the press or whatever
And it kinda looks like she may be on the way there.

This was a sham marriage, his sexuality had nothing to do with it. Their prenup calls for 3mil a year to be paid to Katie for each year of marriage. Who the hell writes up a prenup like that?

Tom's career was suffering, Katie's might have need a lift, why not get into a marriage and generate publicity together? I do think he wanted a kid and Tom is a rich man so why not?

If anything Katie pulled the plug on the contract early when he tried to ship Suri off to a Scientology indoctrination camp.

Maybe he acted normal at first. That kind of shiat happens all the time. A guy or girl seems like the perfect match and you can't believe your luck. They do and say all the right things and you are head over heels. Then a little time passes and they reveal their true selves.

Sure, there were public warning signs about Cruise, but maybe he convinced her that it was all overblown and were ridiculous lies by the media.

Plus, as said before, she isn't necessarily a brainiac.

I don't think she needs/wants comfort. I think she seeks about suffering and degradation due to deep mental issues. Katie, I have a counter offer to MountainMan's proposal. It involves restraints, sexual toys, o-ring and ball gags, and enough use of your body to make up for Tom's lack of need for it.

Actually, I've always been more inclined to believe Tom's a crossdresser or transgender. Katie looks like a female version of Tom, so he could visualize himself through her, which is prolly much of why he started controlling what she wore under the auspices of "You need to look good so that I look good."

It's unfortunate that the attention is getting away from Scientology and David Miscavige. And his missing wife, Shelly Miscavige.

shortymac:

Citation needed. TMZ says the pre-nup gives her nothing, and all she wants is full custody of Suri.

Tom's career was suffering, Katie's might have need a lift, why not get into a marriage and generate publicity together? I do think he wanted a kid and Tom is a rich man so why not?

Tom's movies leading up to War of the Worlds ($600 million worldwide gross)

Collateral (highly praised movie, $217 million world wide gross)
Last Samurai ($456 million)
Minority Report ($350 million)
Vanilla Sky ($200 million)

In no way, shape, or form was Tom Cruise's career "flagging" before he started in the relationship with Holmes.

Cruise's weirdness was exposed because he fired his publicist and put a family member (also a scientologist) in that role, which allowed the couch jumping incident AND the Matt Lauer "glib" interview to happen.

As for Tom wanting a kid - he already had two that he adopted with Kidman.

If anything Katie pulled the plug on the contract early when he tried to ship Suri off to a Scientology indoctrination camp.

And if the marriage was real, she could have pulled the plug because of the Sea Org thing.

PenguinCam: It's unfortunate that the attention is getting away from Scientology and David Miscavige. And his missing wife, Shelly Miscavige.

Not neccessarily. It seems that that is getting MORE attention now. I had just finished reading Blown for Good a few months ago, and have been following Scientology since then with a huge interest in the organization getting destroyed by any means possible. But now this whole Shelly disappearance thing that I learned about from three Tom Cruise threads ago this week has me really despising David Miscavige more than ever. It seems he may have been responsible for the death's of Shelly's mother, and even L. Ron Hubbard himself. It's beginning to look like the guy is a Supervillian and especially a murderer as well. But no way to know for sure without speculating.

FTA -- "We're told Tom also imposed his will during "Batman Begins" ... prohibiting Katie from flying with the rest of the cast. Instead, Katie would only travel on Tom's private jet. One source tells us Morgan Freeman was "disgusted" by the situation."

Morgan Freeman heard to mutter: "Now damn this all to hell and back. After I treated Katie like one of my granddaughters."

Tom Cruise is squat twat.
Him with a fine piece of machinery like Katie is like giving Steven Hawking a boflex, a trampoline, and a Porche.

Bastard cheated her out of years of fun times and a healthy develped relationship with a man who could have and should have adored her.

I don't even know who the hell she is. But every woman deserves a chance for romance at least once in her life. Too bad her robbed her of her wonder years.
Oh well, pretty soon, she'll get fat, begin to hate men, have kids, and once she's accepted herself as a dumpy, man-hating, mom, I'll get my chance to meet her through some dating site.
Then I can dissapoint her in 30 seconds or less.

/call me.

2012-07-06 04:44:16 PM
I seem to remember her gushing when Tom selected her, saying she had dreamed of being with him and that she was the happiest girl in the world because she got to live her dream.

Well, ladies... Here's what the dream of the hunky alpha male gets you: Treated like a robot, if not beaten and cheated on.

Instead of dreaming of the alpha males, girls, you should be aiming for a good beta male or omega male. The alphas will screw you over and make you miserable every time, unless you, yourself, are equally as alpha.

You want a hunky, rich guy? Chances are this is what you get because the guys who get rich are generally going to be the kind of guys who do whatever they can to get there, and you will be as much a piece of property to them as their car... Except not as highly valued.

Take a chance on the betas and omegas, girls. They're the guys who will treat you right.

/And guys-- The same goes for you and alpha women... Unless you like being dominated and cuckolded.
