This is where I say that the Batman: The Animated Series episodes are the finest and greatest American cartoons to ever be produced, and I will fight whoever says otherwise.

I'll second that, and "Heart of Ice" is one of the greatest episodes of any television show, ever, IMO.

Dammit, I thought for a sec that Kevin Conroy was going to be in the new movie.

/Maybe he could have taught Christian Bale how to stop rasping.

piney: hmm...we got most of the obligatory Batman comments here:

"Bale's Batman voice sucks" (not really)
"Batman:The Animated Series" is the best (people have very forgiving memories)
Hamil and Conroy are the best Joker and Batman
A shot at the Bane voice

All we need is a Goatse post and we're done here

Okay.

NateGrey: When are Republicans going to finance their own movies so they can stop complaining about liberal Hollywood.

What do you think the Citizens United ruling was about?

After watching the previews, I'm dreading any prolonged conversations between Batman and Bane.

The first two seasons of The Real Ghostbusters had very good writing for a children's show.

It did.

But the writing on the very very short lived Silver Surfer was so over the heads of American kids that they pulled it from the air.

Also: The Tick and Sam and Max. Both awesome.

Just finished it on Netflix and it is farking awesome. I'm sure peoples will nitpick the animation, but it was 19-frickin-98. The writing is damn near Shakespeare. I said it, Shakespeare.

I completely concur, Heart of Ice is possibly the greatest 24 minutes of narrative storytelling in the animated media to ever exist.
