When I worked as a butcher we'd blend bacon in with regular ground beef, but anything above 20% made it impossible to cook all the way through and left everything a soggy, greasy, crumbly mess. Ground bacon doesn't stick as well as ground beef.

100% ground bacon makes me want to vomit.

I've done this before, whole slab bacon run through the meat grinder. far more trouble than its worth, and its only really worth the giggle factor.

and its really better to grind some pork shoulder in with that cured belly meat. otherwise.. its pretty much nothing but fat

I really, really don't get how anyone can want an egg on their steak/burger/etc. It just sounds so very, very wrong to me.

\then again, given how bacon was cooked by my mom growing up is there any wonder I prefer sausage to bacon?

A place I go to in PDX does a burger with bacon blended in some nights as a special. Everyone I know who has tried it loved it. It seems like such a simple idea.

Johnsonville came out with a bratwurst burger. I like bratwurst, but not the burger so much. I don't think I would want to try this sandwich. I know I am not typical, I don't like a lot of bacon.

I'd hesitate to call this a burger. It's more like an over-processed BLT minus the LT.

Part of what makes a bacon cheeseburger good is the contrast between the salty smoky bacon and the ground beef patty, eliminating the ground beef turns this into something else. It also looks like a big wad of meat without any vegetables for contrast, I'm not digging on it.

Thick hand-formed all beef patty with a bit of Worcestershire, salt and pepper to season it, cooked to medium rare over an open charcoal or woodburning grill so that it gets a nice crust and smoky hit, served with lettuce, tomato, raw onion, dill pickle, a couple slices of thick cut bacon and sharp cheddar on a toasted buttered bun with spicy mustard and just a light drizzle of ketchup is perfection.

The bun itself could be made of bacon, or at least glazed with bacon drippings, or maybe infused with bacon flavoring, or embedded with little pieces of bacon.

Pretty lazy bacon burger, tbqh. I would not hit it. Not up to my standards.

Not likely. An old GF and I ran out of lube one time during a marathon drug-fueled sex session and we tried cooking oil. Besides being a hell of a mess it creates too much friction.

I felt the same way about the egg. Then my husband ordered one and offered me a bite. It's actually pretty good, IMO. Not the way I'd always want my burger, but a nice change-up once in awhile.
