I see I'm not needed here.

I'm amazed Reince Priebus didn't have that guy's kneecaps broken for just coming out and admitting their real goal like that.

2012-07-05 06:14:10 PM
Next "problem" they need to solve: that pesky Voting Rights Act. You know, because it bans these shenanigans.

2012-07-05 07:09:09 PM
How about we require them to take a science test in order to vote?

2012-07-05 08:09:43 PM
i'd rather a million democrats get disenfranchised than allow one democrat to illegally vote. i guess i'm just an old fashioned law and order kind of guy.

Corbett makes me wish we still had Rendell in charge. I swear I had never seen such a corrupted politician... and then Corbett was elected.

/hated Rendell for trying to toll a road nowhere near Philly to fund things in Philly

Unbelievable that he'd actually say what these voter ID assholes are actually thinking.

For those who are interested in the actual video and the full quote:

"We are focused on making sure that we meet our obligations that we've talked about for years. Pro-Second Amendment? The Castle Doctrine, it's done. First pro-life legislation - abortion facility regulations - in 22 years, done. Voter ID, which is gonna allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania, done."

The last sentence meets with no less than 7 seconds of applause.

seconded. At least Rendell didn't fark with voting. He was corrupt, sure, but even his corruption had limits.

If this happens, I hope there are riots. Violent, destructive ones that go on for farking weeks. Goddamn fascist cocksuckers.

We screwed over just enough of the population to ensure we win the election! Yay democracy.

2012-07-05 09:00:33 PM
Now if they do that, how many of those "illegal voters" are going to be Republicans?

Because a lot of career felons are, you know, white boys.

I'm fairly liberal and even I thought turning I-80 into a toll road was a colossally stupid idea.

If your strategy for winning is to minimise the number of people voting, you may be doing it (democracy) wrong.

There are two types of people now.

People who recognize the problem with voter fraud and want to do something about it.

People who recognize the problem with voter fraud and don't want to do anything about it.

Elderly, minorities, students and poor people right?

2012-07-05 09:07:27 PM
I wonder how that 9% of the population manages on a day-to-day basis without proper photo ID. You can't buy cigarettes, alcohol, cash checks, or any of a long list of other things...

Odds are a lot better that they just screwed up their study, or counted dead people and people who have moved out of state (leaving their voter registration intact, but letting their IDs expire).

I must say, it is consistently amazing that you never say anything reasonable. Ever. Every single time it is something dense, stupid, idiotic, or some combination of all three.

I've had enough of randombullshiat's bullshiat.

I'm not quoting your post, because you're a bullshiat troll.

There is, however, no voter fraud "problem" and that cocksmoker of a state legislator just farking admitted it.

Care to share any evidence that indicates voter fraud is common enough that it's worth spending millions of dollars preventing minorities from voting voter fraud?

People who recognize the problem with voter fraud (which is rarer than being struck by lightning) and don't want to do anything about it (since the system is working) sound like the more rational group. You could say you don't want students and poor people to vote for Obama, though. Honesty is refreshing.

That's one of the most sickeningly partisan things I've heard a politician say. So to make myself feel better I just fired off a polite yet nasty email to Mr. Turzai. I'm completely convinced that when he reads it he will immediately call for the repeal of this bill. I'm such a hero.

FTFY. Fraudulent voters are, statistically, almost nonexistent, and certainly don't exist in large enough numbers to change the outcome of any election bigger than 'Small town mayor'. And even THAT is doubtful.

It's other electoral fraud that changes outcomes...Corruption in the vote-counting process. But that tends to benefit Republicans, and Republican "fixes" wouldn't fark over legitimate Democratic voters, so the Republicans don't give a shiat.

Voter fraud is now done by computer. There is no need to make any voter realize that they did not matter.

2012-07-05 09:12:34 PM
The main difference is, most democrats I know would never want to win an election by disenfranchising legit voters.

Yes. That's a decimal point followed by two zeroes.

I haven't been carded for alcohol in a long time, and I don't cash checks.

The only time I need to present ID is when I drive, fly, go to another country, or change jobs.

I could imagine being retired, never doing a single one of those things again. I'd let my ID expire and not renew it. Voting alone isn't worth going to the DMV - that place is a f*cking dystopian hellhole.

Comment on how he consistently brings the stupid. But, to question his post or attempt to logically refute it is just a waste of time.

In the same way that curbing liberties in the name of protecting us from terrorism -because the Cheney Administration has half the population peeing in their pants- is legal.

Its legality hasn't been tested yet. In the absence of free IDs, it'll get struck down, even with the current SCOTUS makeup.

The only question is whether it'll get struck before November. Because it's so obviously unconstitutional, I have to imagine some lower court will strike it before the election.

Where are you from that you have to go to the DMV to renew your license, I'm from PA, AKA Northern Albama and we renew either through the mail or online.

I always believe that both the left and right want just that a "f*cking dystopian hellhole". Great way to put it. Vote R or D to get your own version of a "f*cking dystopian hellhole"

That is the perfect set of words for the two choices in modern America. Thank you for connecting those words.
