Airborne pollutants that accumulate moisture will help us reestablish high atmosphere sunlight reflection in order to cool us down. The faster the West's wilderness burns and the sooner we revoke the Clean Air Act, the quicker we will find relief.

I'm sure the dinosaurs tried to figure out a way to destroy asteroids but got too caught up in politics and money-making to care.

I think that was summer of 97 or 98, I remember looking out from my 5th floor office window in Dallas and wondering why I couldn't see three miles. From the ground the world just looked gray, from higher up it was a flight problem.

It's been hazy as hell here the last couple of days. It helped keep the temp down yesterday though, so it's not all bad. The moon was really eerie looking last night too. We're a good 300 miles from the closest fire, and the visibility here has to be down to around half a mile.

But digging trenches around it sure as hell helps create a containment line.

/less than thirty miles from the third largest fire at the moment
//the town has been on pre evac notice for four days
/yes, it's very nervous around here right now

Get a few suitcases packed and ready to go. We had about 30 minutes between mandatory evac order and OMFG FLAMES COMING DOWN THE HILL. I started packing when we went on Pre evac and it only bought me 2 hours.

Lots of people were at work and lost everything.

Several suspects were arrested tonight, who were said to be young. Claimed they were attempting to create a blaze that burned brighter than the sun.
