notmtwain: cicdle: the biggest redneck here: notmtwain: Kobayashi ate 68.5 dogs in the Crif Dog Classic. Winner and new champion!

Not the same product, not the same event/crowd, doesn't count for shiat. Both he and the eating "league" need to quit being children.

Also was 2 minutes longer.

They were both 10 minutes. I have no idea who has bigger dogs, buns, etc.

This article told me otherwise, but I can't find info the contest website about it.

I'm not defending the Disney sports network (I hate them) but the E in ESPN stands for entertainment.

I came to say this. But in America, most people think eating is a sport.

And why not? Many of them sweat while doing it.

If a fat guy can do it while sitting down and come out the winner without getting winded, then posting to Fark is an Olympic event and I've got a good chance at the gold.

If I can win it, it ain't a sport. QED

Dear Ethiopia,

Every year, we have a choice between feeding one of your villages, and having one man eat seventeen times the recommended caloric maximum on national television. Guess which one we picked. Again.

Love,

America

Ryker's Peninsula: OneBrightMonkey: I'm going to defend this as a sport.

Any fatass can run a slant pattern, but I'd like to see Megatron take down 68 dogs in 10 minutes.

Think about it. It takes physical endurance, pain tolerance, strategy and discipline to be good at eating all that stuff. Most of the contenstants are svelt and work out a lot.

I'll bet you Michael Vick could take down 68 dogs in 10 minutes.

It totally is a sport! They even had Paul Page announcing it!

/Paul Page!
//He did the Indy 500 in my youth!
///sigh. It's not a sport.

If you can do it while drinking beer, it's not a sport. Darts, bowling, poker... not sports.
Also, if you're required to smile while competing, it's not a sport.

Eating hot dogs is more of a sport than the July 4 alternative, baseball.

Coco LaFemme: You see this shiat and it becomes clear why some people hate this country.

And an Asian woman just won the women's competition.
And a Japanese guy was the dominant force in this SPORT for years.

I hate all of you. AMERICA, FARK YEAH!!!!

It does not matter who wins, it's still not a sport.

While we're on the subject, neither are poker, billiards, bowling, darts, or golf. These are things that are not sports.

And driving. Also not a sport.

If you can drink while you are doing it, it isn't a sport. Though I guess that would rule out baseball.

Interview with Kobayashi after the Crif Dog Classic

Kobayashi says that the Nathan's Dog is easier to eat in a competitive setting but that the Crif dogs taste better. Hmm.

// It was just 10 minutes.
