The worst part is the trapezoidal arc taken by any objects they kick off the mountain.

When my son was little we were at a petting zoo in Disney. This goat came running fro the other side of the pen and bumped him down from behind. As he geared up for a second run, I kicked the SOB in the ass!(The goat, not my son.)

I can see part of Olympic National Park out of my office window...here in Canada, so I'm getting a kick out of this thread.

/also, I loved the first Agressive Mountain Goats album "Do Not Urinate on Trails", but found their second, "Long Salt Lick", a little jejune.

These things have been aggressive all along. I got booted into Lake Constance by a goat who wanted my backpack (They love the salt from your sweat). Hanging your pack up a tree against bears doesn't help against a goat who'll climb up to get it.

/carry a sawed-off bat as a weapon (Rangers won't take it from you)
//and stay far away from ANY wildlife you see (even squirrels can be vicious)
///where the hell ya gonna pee, then?

MFers trashed my tent back in '82 when I was climbing Mt Constance. Got back to camp and there was a goat planted smack dab on top of my tent. It wasn't worth repairing.

Just finished re-reading "Micro" by Crichen and Preston. Your words reminded me of that. I think the goats were implants, along with the elk.

That was in '73. I was camped on that promontory overlooking the lake where everybody cliff dives.The goats know this. But I also had troubles in Enchanted Valley while crossing from Dosewallops to Queets. Learned a bit about goat-wrangling on that trip in 1968.

I would just like to express how happy I am that this thread is filled with references to the 60's Hercules cartoon, and no mention whatsoever of the Disney or Sorbo abortions.

Ah, but Disney and the Sorbo abortions lack the amazing theme song: Link With the great lyrics:

Hercules, hero of song and story!
Hercules, winner of ancient glory!
Fighting for the right, fighting with his might;
With the strength of ten, ordinary men!
Hercules, people are safe when near him!
Hercules, only the evil fear him!
Softness in his eyes, iron in his thighs;
Virtue in his heart, fire in every part of
The Mighty Hercules!

The 1963 version of Herc was the original stud muffin. The Disney and Sorbo versions were pretty boys.
