Awwwww, is subby grumpy today? Did three billy-goats gruff stomp over his bridge?

Tremolo: I want the same sort of analysis for "Swat Cats"

I second this.

O'Reilly Media should make an exhaustive technical guide based on Reboot.

Endless Mike is now the voice of the Bravo network, and his younger brother played Morgan on "Chuck."

Isn't he also that one attorney general guy on "Justified"? On a vaguely related note: when I realized that the sidekick cop on "Awake" was Fez from "That 70s Show"- mind blown.

Toshiro Mifune's Letter Opener: Fark It: I second that.

-1

*fistbump*

It was hilarious and well done.

What's next, bashing Salute Your Shorts? Dr. Kahn will NOT stand for that bullshiat.

FlashHarry: pete & pete was hilarious, hatermitter.

kimwim: Pete and Pete was the only thing that got me through the day sometimes.

THAT'S what I'm talkin' about, peoples.
That was entertaining TV.

I never saw either show. The last Nickelodeon shows I remember watching routinely were Ren & Stimpy and Weinerville.

Pete and Pete had quite a hand in shaping my young sense of humor. I still love the show, and bought the DVD's a couple years ago.

I absolutely forgot that Michelle Trachtenberg was in that show!

Toshiro Mifune's Letter Opener: Toby Huss is a national treasure.

If I could, I'd THIS that comment in an appropriate Sinatra-esque way attributable to Huss's talents.

odinsposse: I didn't have cable growing up but whenever I visited a friend or relative who did I managed to catch an episode of Pete & Pete. It was a phenomenal show. The story of Mr. Tastee is still one of the most poignant stories I remember hearing in my childhood.

This. Pete and Pete is the only show I remember that had seasonal episodes that defined my (and many others) childhood understanding of the passage of time.

Mr. Tasty always came with the bitter sweet ending of the summer. Those eerie and slightly ominous commercials for it every year told of an enjoyable television experience followed by the realization that School was about to start.

And then the new years episode, unique as it was always played in a skewed slot so the New Year would coincide with the turning of the year in the show, having this strange oddity in the fact that it was played in the middle of the night when Nick at Nite would normally be on.

And of course the Daylight Saving episode, taking the mundane task of turning the clock back and turning that concept into the only instance of real world time travel...

So yeah, fark you subby, please feel free to go die in a fire at your earliest convienence. Your troll ass only succeeded in letting me reminisce about one kick ass piece of children's television that didn't treat the audience like morons.

/Has the DVDs.
//Might give em a watch now.
///After reading this article of course.

dnrtfa; did not read the thread. i only have to assume that someone's pointed out that that was the best show ever made at the time, and it remains solidly in the top 5 shows ever made.

iggy pop + michelle trachtenberg + me = the best incestuous 3-way ever. and ellen can watch. you know she wants to. you can see it in her eyes.

I came in here wondering if there would be people actually hating on Pete & Pete.

Thank you all for being awesome. Except subby.

2012-07-05 07:32:36 AM
Dear Subby, you, sir, are a blowhole. Please be to dying ever so quickly.

Nary a day goes by when I don't exclaim "Excellente!"

I loved The Adventure of Pete and Pete! Great to see two red headed kids in a world were I rarely met some myself as a kid.

The only thing wrong with Pete & Pete is they never released volume 3 of the DVD sets.

Exactly that.

Farkin'-A!

I remember his cover of "Insane in the Brain" for an MTV spot. It was to *die* for.

Any kid's show that uses Ministry's Stigmata for incidental music has my support.

I didn't like the show as a little kid, but I rewatched it at about age 19-20 and thought it was excellent.

Probably 80 percent of the people loving on this show in here were kids in the 90s, but there is another, more thinly-populated demographic of which I am a part, a parent whose kids were kids in the 90s. A parent who absolutely loved this show, and still watches the episodes whenever he can, watching with wistful memories of the children who have grown and the laughs we shared watching the best show from the Golden Age of Nickelodeon.

Oh and subby is a fungus-lick !

I read the whole thing, it wraps up with a more hefty dose of bitterness over losing Michelle Trachtenberg than i expected.
