That had to be nifty. I always liked James Taylor's music.

Hourglass is a hell of an album.

I didn't read that (but it looks like an interesting read), but I remember reading about the stuff he went through. Hell of a lot, definitely.

It's pretty interesting how their lives were all intertwined. CSNY, Simon & Garfunkel, and Lennon were all unbelievably whiny little princesses. McCartney to a lesser degree. The only people who came across admirably were Taylor, Harrison, and Ringo.

He's put out some great stuff but farking allah! He has GOT TO BE SICK of singing 'F&R' after 40 years.

From a psychological view I find it interesting that a man so painfully shy and seeming socially retarded trys to find fulfillment performing to thousands of people every year.

As for the article writer and his fellating of Tanglewood: East coast pretension.

In case of Zombie Apocalypse, I always carry weaponized "Shannon Is Gone" and "I Am, I Said" on me at all times. Large caliber "Seasons In The Sun" works well for both werewolves and vampires, but your best bet is copper-jacketed "I Write The Songs."

Wow. forgot about those, too. Actually had an Irish Setter we named Shannon.
I give Neil a pass - but if I hear that damned Terry Jacks song once more, I will not be responsible for my actions!

Terry Jacks used to be my neighbor. He made a fortune off that song (and a couple others) I used to sing that song to him everytime I saw him at first he would smile and wave. After a while he would cringe whenever I was outside. I like to think my less than subtle torture helped him understand what he had done. What I would really like to believe is that he looks back on it fondly and thinks to himself "We had joy we had fun. We had seasons in the sun."

Considering he wrote that about a friend of his who died, that seems like an incredibly cruel thing to do to the guy.

"Seasons in the Sun" is an English-language adaptation of the song Le Moribond by Belgian singer-songwriter Jacques Brel with lyrics by American singer-poet Rod McKuen.

Thanks for pointing that out. Since I grew with the Kingston Trio version of it from the '60s, I think of Terry Jack's version as a later cover.

I have no problems with Taylor Swift. Her music isn't really my thing, but then again, it isn't supposed to be. But I saw the 60 Minutes segment on her, and I put her in the same general category as Katy Perry: she writes modern pop but it isn't just gawd-awful drivel, she's cute, she genuinely cares about her fans and seems like a throughly decent person. I also like that she wouldn't take 'no' for an answer and refused to stop believing in herself. Cool stuff; the world needs a few more like her, instead of all these useless "special snowflakes" who are about to hit the workforce.

At that age? He is exactly my kind of thing. Good looking without being too pretty. I always liked James Taylor, though in high school I would have rather eaten a handful of nails than admit that.
