Not sure what I thought I was looking for in that article, but not seeing Grilled cheese and tomato soup makes this list total fail.

YMMV

Preach it, mang.

That's comfort food and a HALF.

This seems like less of a "food pairings" list, and more of something i thought of while i was reaaaaaaaaaaaalllllyyyyyyyy baked.

Word. There are sooo many actual good combinations in real life that this list is a farking joke.

Well...except for bacon & egg cups...

I've made the spaghetti hotdogs for my kids. We call them "hotdog octopus".

French fries with ice cream is really good, as is a fried egg on a hamburger.

I want to find a recipe for the bacon and egg cups.

I would eat the shiat out of those pizza fries.

-Random topic that's not important
-Head scratching entries that confuse and disgust
-Awesome entries that everyone can get behind
-Random product placement

It's almost the perfect internet list. Too bad it's not a slide show.

Bacon on smores made by a campfire sounds like a winner.

2012-07-04 10:47:17 AM
Peanut butter and dill pickle sandwich belongs on list

This list completely fails without this:

1. Pizza fries

2. Eggs IN toast

3. Pizza with a hotdog crust and macaroni cheese topping

4. Buffalo chicken cupcakes

5. Peanut butter cup inside a buttercream cupcake

6. Bacon and egg cups

7. Spaghetti hotdogs

8. Doritos and Pepsi Max

9. Potato chips in burgers

10. French fries and ice cream

11. Hamburger and egg

12. Pizza and ranch

13. Peanut butter, bananas, and honey

14. Popcorn and white chocolate chip cookies

15. Ramen and egg

I've struck down the things I wouldn't eat. And I've done most of the rest. Macaroni is supposed to be oven baked, egg in ramen is Japanese norm, eggs in toast was a V's signature dish.

Now I have to go and read up on how to make the bacon & egg breakfast cups. If it requires a muffin pan I won't do it because I won't own a muffin pan.

duh!

line a muffin pan cup with bacon to make a bowl.

bake in oven until the bacon bowl is set and crispy. crack egg into bacon bown still in muffin pan cup. bake until egg has set.

pop out, eat, enjoy..

I would add a little bit of Honllindase or cheese sauce personally and set it on a toasted English muffin

how the hell is egg on a burger weird in Australia its downright common.

So does coke. Just less.

An egg on anything pretty much FTW.

However, you're selling yourself short with just throwing an egg inside a hole cut in toast.

Get a sandwhich roll, cut the top off, dig some of the insides out, place egg, bake with some seasonings on top (chives, pepper, whatever you're into.)

Awesome, simple breakfast anyone can make.

/Puts fried egg on almost everything... tacos, hamburgers, you name it.

4. Buffalo chicken cupcakes

Huh? You just put one piece on top of a cupcake? What the fark is the difference between just eating a single buffalo thigh and then a cupcake afterwards?

BUUUUUUUULshiat!

OK, I'll give you 2, 6, 13, and 15. Hell, I've even enjoyed 11. The rest? Complete shiate. Where are the REAL matches? Grilled cheese and tomato soup? Peppers and eggs? Noodles and...and...whatever??? (As long as it's spicy)...

Fish and hot dog? Wings and cupcake? Spaghetti and farking hot dog? I'll kill you.

Also, 2 is called "Frog In A Hole". It's the gateway drug to poached eggs. And that's a good thing.

Well, I must admit, I'd've never have thot' of putting french fries w/my ice creams. But, with food groupings like these, who needs the Triple-D?

ThereAreFourLights: Needs more peanut butter, mayonnaise and lettuce sandwiches.

That's the kind of wrongness this thread needs, but if we're going that route you can make all sorts of mayo jokes. The article was about edible things. Mostly.

Peanut butter and KY jelly sandwich.
Hollandaise sauce on chocolate cupcakes.
Blueberry pizza.
Roasted Bald eagle.
Carrot and peach hamburger.... Wait, that might work.
Spaghetti and pea soup.
Cod Caesar salad.
Deviled hamsters.

2012-07-04 11:24:42 AM
Anything with ranch is an abomination. Give me ranch and there will be fatalities. Also Pepsi maxx has that nasty diet sweetener. Fark that.

That's called a Chicken in a Basket. It's good with either ketchup, bbq sauce or my favorite, strawberry jam.

s3-ec.buzzfed.com

Yes, but not like that. Mash the banana up into the peanut butter and honey with a fork, then spread the mix onto your bread. Grill it if you'd like. It's delicious.

Peanut butter, sweetcorn and cheese toastie. It's the (drunk) food of the gods. Ice cream on chips? WTF is wrong with you people? It's bad enough the Dutch and Belgians put mayonnaise on chips, but ice cream is just a horrible thought. Was that list put together by Heston Blumenthal?

biglot: Well, I must admit, I'd've never have thot' of putting french fries w/my ice creams. But, with food groupings like these, who needs the Triple-D?

As someone who dipped Wendy's fries into a Frosty, I approve of this pairing.

2012-07-04 11:27:38 AM
This looks a little more planned out than "Crap, I have a deadline in 4 hours and I don't have a thing. What can I write about?..." But it's still total fluff. That being said,

1. Pizza Fries-I'd try them once out of curiosity. But, while pizza and french fries (if they're made well) are both awesome, this looks like less than the sum of its parts. I'd rather just eat pizza.

2. Egg-in-a-nest-My kid makes these. She likes them, but I'm not a huge fan. Meh.

3. Hot dog/Mac & cheese pizza-WTF? I'm never drunk or stoned enough to consider eating that

4. Buffalo cupcakes-Sometimes the pairing of contrasting flavors (like sweet and tangy) can be awesome. This...doesn't look like one of those times.

5. PB cup in a cupcake-That looks awesome. Totally unhealthy, but I'd eat one. Nom nom nom...

6. Bacon cups-They're pretty good. The time I had them they weren't cooked all the way through. I think it would be hard to get both right without either the bacon or egg being burned or underdone.

7. Spaghetti hotdogs-That looks like redneck or college food. Something you'd eat the day before payday when you go "Well, we have hotdogs but no buns or bread..." Or it's something you'd eat when you're 5.

8. Doritos and Pepsi Max-Product placement time!

9. Chips in burgers-I've done chips in tuna sandwiches (pretty good, like the crunch and salt on the tuna) and fries in burgers (okay, makes it hard to eat).

10. FF and ice cream-You have not lived until you've dunked french fries into a Wendy's Frosty.

11. Burger and egg-sounds like standard bar food-something you can have thrown on your burger for an extra buck.

12. Pizza and Ranch-I admit, I will dip my pizza crust in ranch if any is around.

13. PB, banannas, and honey-It's a great change up to always doing PB&J. Yum.

14. Popcorn cookies-That sounds intriguing. I think the popcorn would end up being filler and novelty, though. I guess if you're making a huge batch of cookies on a budget, these (or some variety) would be great.

15. Ramen and egg-Isn't this how it's done in Japan normally?

2012-07-04 11:29:46 AM
The list is missing my favorite of "Tequila and Regret"
