Tanks

// Interesting to look at the guy's You-tube channel. He made a lot of progress over the five years he was actively posting videos and he posted a comment about a month ago that he has another one under way.

Dear aspiring film makers (and some very well established film makers),

Using "shaky-cam" does not make your action scenes more immersive, frenetic, interesting, or exiting. It makes people wonder how you managed to pass Introduction to Cinematography and why you can't be bothered to spend a few bucks on a freaking tripod.

Sincerely,
Audience tired of watching shaky, blurry crap.

T-34's aren't brown. Ever.

A for effort.

I'd like to do something like that with 40k guys. That's an impressive amount of work he put into it.
I particularly liked the guy getting crushed by his own tank.

The shaky-cam and the florescent orange blood both took away from it, but overall, it was cool.

Little known fact: the Battle of Berlin was fought on roller skates.

No Russian tanks were ever painted brown as far as I know but may were brown with rust duing the hight of the German invasion simply because they didn't have time to paint them before sending them into battle.

This was long before the Battle of Berlin.

Actually all future wars will be fought using droids on hoverboards, so this is pretty accurate.

I just finished re-reading Antony Beevor's "The Fall of Berlin 1945" and thought the animation would be amazing on a much larger scale, say that of the whole city center.

i wonder if stop animation with army men can accurately portray utter contempt for human dignity.

seriously tho, that book was really good. the shiat that went down during WWII is horrifying. i kept thinking during the whole book, "why the fark didnt the germans send every division to the eastern front and just let the western allies walk in." have you read his book on stalingrad? what happened there was even more farked up. it does justice to its incredible and terrible subject.

I was probably reaching but I was expecting the same. An overhead view of Berlin and the armies/leaders as they advanced on, or defended the city. Similar to those table top maps they push troop and equipment icons around on in movies. Not shiatting on this video, just hoping for something else.

His Stalingrad book was equally well done, but as you say, that was even more farked up. Either book is a guaranteed antidote when I'm feeling dissatisfied with how things are going in my life.

My uncle will love this. He's got over 10,000 Soviet, Axis and Allied troops in 1:72 scale. Also all the vehicles. However his big collection is Union and Rebel troops, with over 50,000 men, and cannon. He's got 25 or so plywood terrain boards and an insane number of war history books.

/I ain't gonna study war no more

Better storyline and dialogue than a Michael Bay movie.
